G'day all.

I was reading up on a ATSB report of Boeing Stearman crash at Canyonleigh in NSW back in 2006. I'm wondering if anyone knew the callsign of the aircraft involved and what has happened to it now, whether the own has gotten rid of it and so on. Any information would be handy and greatly appreciated.

Cheers Mike

Mike, thread moved to DG&P General Aviation & Questions, where I think you're more likely to find an answer!

The call sign N-73410 is at the head of the ATSB report (http://www.atsb.gov.au/publications/investigation_reports/2006/AAIR/aair200605559.aspx).

I have no idea of what happened to it afterwards. I note it was not airworthy prior to the accident.

still appears on FAA Registry

N-Number Results (http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/NNumSQL.asp?NNumbertxt=73410&cmndfind.x=14&cmndfind.y=10)

If that doesnt work try N-Number Inquiry (http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/NNum_inquiry.asp) and enter 73410

On this page it says that

The owner ofthe Stearman is (was) Ross Brightman Cell 0405991727 home 0248789010.
Not sure if these phone numbers are still valid. I spoke to him shortly after his accident and he said he was going to rebuild it. This was a few years ago.
cheers

An airline pilot in a Stearman?? That's worse than a doctor in a Bonanza.
