Hi all, first time poster here and hoping you guys can help out on where should I go for advanced training.

I've just finished my CPL, and i'm planning to do an instructor rating and *hopefully* (seems rather hard judging by most of the threads here) secure a job afterwards.

The thing is i'm not so sure which training school I should head for. I'm located in Brisbane and there's a few choices around. Has anyone got any recommendations or pointers?

Cheers

Find a school that you would like to work for. Do your instructors rating course there, and do the very best that you can - impress them. This will give you the best chance at securing a job.

I'd go and visit the schools and have a chat with the CFI. You never know, they may be short staffed.

Have you thought about instructing part time on weekends? Some schools like it if you only want to work at the busiest time of the week, these positions may be easier to secure.

Good luck :ok:

thx for the pointers bubba.

I have gone to couple of schools around redcliffe, goldcoast and archerfield and have a general idea. It seems that starting off part-time/casual is usually what happens with a fresh rating.

On another note, has anyone trained with Sunland in AF before? Mind if I ask how are they?

Cheers

Haven't trained with Sunland but I have worked with Brian Westin and if he is running your training at Sunland you won't go wrong. He has forgotten more about flying than I will ever learn!!
