Apparently Ryanair has started talks with Boeing and Airbus (!) to aquire up to 300 new aircraft until 2012. Very clever move indeed as manufacturers are currently struggling to stop buyers from cancelling their orders and welcome big orders like this. No doubt they'll get away with a good price.

IIRC Airbus have already told MOL to do one.

With their massive fleet of very new Boeings, there's absolutely no way they would buy Airbus. This is just another MOL ploy to try and get the 2 big manufacturers underbidding each other.

easyjet changed. Northwest was Pratt by religion, so DC-10/40...till 787. BA was in RR's pocket...until 1991 777. Like them all, FR will do what's right for their operation, with the full attention of Boeing, AI, and the asset-financing industry. If ordered 2010, delivered one-a-week 2012-2018 and financed on guesses of residual value at hull age of 15 years, this deal will turn on assumptions on loads/yields two recession cycles from now. So, no, it's not green shoots; it's triggered by the financing terms of the present fleet which step-changes and balloons from its early-years' discount. Which is why FR can't wait for any all-new narrowbody.
