Hi,
Just been looking at the awards on that AFAP site. Do many companies keep to these? I am looking at the instructing/scenic flight/up north charter stuff.

How far off are they?

Simply yes.

Operators that pay equal or less are kidding themselves.

Treat your employees as YOU want them to treat you and your company

The B58 pilots are earning $10 - $15k more than the AFAP wage.

I know of guys getting paid 75k to fly 404's

Last year is still fresh in many operators minds :ok:

And lets face it, the pilot is the cheapest part of operating an aeroplane!

Have a look at it from the employee's perspective. If you pay your employees well they will be generally 'happier' to come to work.

Thus the 'happy' mood rubs off on your customers.

I've had a few passing comments like "Thanks for the flight the other week, the pilot was always smiling and engaging in conversation"

see?

"Thanks for the flight the other week, the pilot was always smiling and engaging in conversation"

Only because the passenger was Jennifer Hawkins.:}

There are a couple of operators up north I can think of that pay the award salary, however trying to get those same employers to meet the other conditions and allowance of the award is like getting blood from a stone.

A fussy dick is a lonely dick, particularly up north.
