Greetings Everyone.

"One who asks a question is a fool for five minutes; one who does not ask a question remains a fool forever."
And more so in the question that I have.

CPL after High School + Todays Aviation Scenario = Jobless !

And since the Jobless in India, Almost no Flying School Instructor positions or Charter Options at present.
So going to collage makes a lot of sense.

And Hence requesting all fellow aviators - The one's who have gone through this / The ones who have prepared themselves for this / The ones who helped others - To help find a Aviation Academic course (Under Graduate course. i.e after High School)that strengthens ones position in the Aviation Market. (Cockpit or Desk)

Bsc / Msc Aviation (Degree and Masters) seem of not much value because the subjects are not even a word extra from the conventional CPL syllabus.
But comments are still invited.

Also any other academic courses apart from Aviation which someone might think worth doing - Please say it - Its worth telling.

Regards,
Silent.

The B.sc Aviation courses seem fair...
As the syllabi matches our professional subjects, it keeps the subjetcs fresh in my mind....
Plus most of the students happen to be CPL holders....so it helps in keeping track of the latest news..
BBA's a pretty good option too..

Well im doing Bsc IT, have a diploma in technology.

Plan to start working very soon (Software Trainee). Already have a business set up but i still wanna work more.

thereby saving money for a Masters Abroad. Also saving to keep my License Current n all.

Unemployed People with Business ideas can contact me via PM for a joint startup of a small scale business or smthing. i am always open to it :)

I dunno why but i find Bsc Aviation Management Funny. Id rather do what IndAir967 said, the Certificate in Aviation Management the 2-3 month course.

Id really suggest not putting all your eggs in one boat i.e. AVIATION with Bsc / Msc in Av. just to get an easy degree rather work your way around and educate yourself more.

@guitarboy..
"Id really suggest not putting all your eggs in one boat"....

Hmm..you got a point...
However, a B.sc degree has a compatibility with all options unlike BBA degrees and specialist courses...

With regards to business ventures, it probably is a good time to start an unemployed pilots newspaper:}...Anywayz p.m. me if you have some interesting ideas...

By the way, a recruiting agency called me..Asked me to cough up 50 grand for latest news on recruitment:ugh:...Now that's one way of making money

How about you do a flight dispatcher's course ?

Possibly get a job in flight ops untill flying job opportunity comes along.

Go get an engineering degree - if you really want to do flying - find a school in the US that offers a 2 year or 4 year degree in aviation.

That way you have something to fall back on in times like this.

The India's aviation market is super flooded! Plenty of Indian pilots lying around! More than enough for the next five-ten years.

No point getting into aviation market in India.

Should consider changing name of the topic to ACADEMICS BEFORE CPL !

Its absolutely pointless to think about getting a CPL before having another skill or job in the bag these days.

That certificate in Aviation Management is probably worth less than the paper it is printed on. Save your money - get a decent degree and then work towards the flying on the side. As somebody said, the market is flooded. You are going to need more than a certificate to get ahead of the rest...

Well i would like to point out that just degrees and certificates dont matter,I mean they surely do till an extent (i.e. make your resume look like a diamond) but the main point is u need to have it in you..

There are many IIT'ans roaming around without jobs. What wrong did they do, they studied 2 years in school for a entrance, cracked the entrance (may have dropped years in the middle) then completed a 4 year Btech and now what??

people complete Software Engineering + BCA and they daymn dont know how to do the normal thngs in the computer that nowadays even a 4th std kid can do.

^^^ These are all facts i know by my own experience.

Believe you me its not just that u have a Btech from IIT mba from IIM and youre the king of the world. it takes hardwork and sincerity.
Even a 3 month certificate can be Awesome for a person who knows what he's talking about and has the enthusiasm.

And FYI the Certificate course being talked about here is After Graduation or even post Grad.

Just do what u think you want to and be focused and sooner or later you'l be where you want to be
