Mapjet's website say they've joined with Viennjet recently, and are currenlty recruiting for crew on a variety of aircraft.

A search only came up with one thread, which only had one (negative) response, and that was in 2007. Anyone got any up to date information ?

Thanks.

L8.

They are looking for quite a lot of crews for their Exec Fleet, see webpage of Mapjet.
I do not think you will get rich there.
I have send them my application some months ago, they answered that they like my vita and will approach me if the situation arises. But so long I Have not heard anything from them.
A rumour is saying that they received some slots for Munich and Frankfurt out of Vienna and they are cuurently looking for an investor in order to buy/lease some Embraer 175/195 for the flights to the above mentioned destinations in Germany

Buenos Dias!

as far as i`ve heard, map made a cooperation with viennajet, saying that the flightplanning is done by mapjet and they`re working close together regarding the flightsales. But it seems a bit strange that the aircraft listest on Viennajet`s Webpage, are now beeing sold via that new webpage: SMART AIRSERVICE - Flugzeuge (http://www.smartairservice.com/flugzeuge.shtml)

Jet Alliance lost another aircraft (after OE-GEG /Citation XLS) to Mapjet, to be more precise: to map Executive Flight Service (MPF). It`s a CL300 (OE-HAB) and will be transfered (as far as i heard) by the end of february.

I`ve heard that rumors regarding the MUC/FRA Slots too, but it looks strange that neither their old webpage http://www.mapjet.eu (http://www.mapjet.eu/) or their new one mapjet (http://www.mapjet.biz/) is saying anything about recruitment of embraer pilots.

OE-HAB Challenger 300 transferred end of last month and they are putting Russian crews on it, sounds a complete shambles. Not sure how that works with a JAA registration or do they get their license off the back of a fag packet from the Austrian Authorities, so mush for all those written exams the rest of the jaa guys have had to do

Sit a few computer based exams, (one at a time), and you soon have a JAR licence thanks to the Austrians now being in JAA. Additionally the questions all come from a Q&A bank! Utterly shameful!
I'm afaid I predicted this a few years ago. Russian owners want Russian pilots. No hotac in Moscow to pay for and lower salaries quite apart from the belief that Russian pilots are "the best in the world!"
It's a thin edge of a wedge and is already eating up quite a number of expat jobs with I don't doubt many more will follow.
Sorry to say I think the writing is on the wall for the majority of Russian positions as operators will go along with anything the owner/bill payer wants!

Here's more info. MapJet now rebranded Austriair. These E195's look really nice!

The "AustriaAir" rebrand was cancelled quite a few weeks ago already, only shortly after they announced it.

Seems like Austrian was not too happy about them trying to tag along with a very similar name / colour scheme.

They now plan to continue as "MAPjet" afaik.
