Southwest Pilots Contract Update

Southwest pilots today REJECTED their latest contract offer, details as follows:

A retroactive pay INCREASE of 2% backdated to the beginning of 2007 (yes...two and half years ago!!)
A further 2% increase in September

They believe the company will increase both numbers to 3% after further negotiation. They are also presently amongst the highest paid pilots in the industry.

A friend's brother flies for Southwest, and after 20 years has $3.1 usd million in his pension plan. Many flight attendants have $1.5 million or better. Something about the management 'putting the staff first'... :ugh:
