Hey

I was wondering what the criteria is when deciding if a flight is long, short or mid haul. Is it variable or is there a guideline such as 0-4 hours = short etc?

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Ryan

Depends on the airline to be honest.

You could say that flights (from the UK) within Europe are short haul, whereas flights to the furthest parts of Europe (Eastern Europe, Moscow for example) could be mid haul and flights further a field long haul.

Some airlines may say all flights over 5 hours are long haul (I think I read somewhere that this is how Thomas Cook defines long haul...), whereas others may say flights over a certain distance, say 3000 miles, are long haul

I think the best thing to answer this question is to refer you to the clip below. Scroll through to 2:20 and your query is cleared up there....
