Anyone got any idea what happens when the RAF fly into a civilian airport? Is there some form of contract at each airport, or is it just treated as an ad-hoc charter.

I also wouldn't imagine many places had the necessary equipment for a VC10 or Tristar these days!

Yes contracts in place, all handling providers are contained in said RAF manual, also they contracts with most all fuel companies and with one of the worlds largest aviation charge cards:ok:

Anyone got any ideas as to who handles them at the various UK airports?

I believe it's Servisair at MAN, although Aviance may be taking it back as they had it before Servisair.

The RAF use a big book nicknamed 'The Silver Chock' which lists all handling agents and their details, for all airports the AT fleet visit. It would be a very long list to post them on here.

Never using AF at Bordeaux again. Absolutely awful.
