Whilst looking out of my office (yes working bank holiday) at MCTC Colchester I'm positive I just saw some sort of WWII Bomber, wouldn't like to guess as I only caught a glimpse of it, but does anyone know of such sorties in the area???

It was the BBF Lancaster. I saw it slightly after you I would guess, at approx 14:00 near Mendlesham.

Thats the badger, I would've guessed (if pressed) that it was a Lanc but literally caught a glipse, the noise was the most predominant thing. Thanks Clare prop for letting me know I'm not going doolally.

Southend Air Show? (http://www.southendairshow.com/)

Could it have been a B25 Mitchell as I not BBMF does not appear to be flying at the show....

There was a Westland Wasp over Bury St Eds around about mid day. He was heading North. First time I've seen one for years. Mind you, I heard him half and hour before I saw him! Maybe he was involved in the same show?

The Lancaster was conducting some flypasts in the region. One at Leiston. Display at Southend.

Do the RAF HF fly the Lancaster using authentic WW2 CRM and cockpit procedures? Or have they adopted more modern practices?

My parents live within spitting distance of RAF Conningsby Lincs, so, particularly in the summer, we are spoilt with coming and going of the lanc, Spits, Hurricanes and Dakota. A truely amazing sight, and the sound of the Lanc engines make the hairs on your neck stand up every time! If you are ever in the area, take time out to go and see the BB flight.

Hi folks, Spitfire and Hurricane passed over here, Raydon, followed by Red Arrows. Unidentified prop. aircraft went over, cream and red, first reaction was a flying boat. Anyone see that. No binoculars handy to get closer look before it disappeared

BBMF Lanc was skulking south of Colchester on Bank Holiday Monday (May 27th), on the way to Southend. Did it visit Abberton reservoir for a re-run?

Flying boat? Catalina from Duxford perhaps?

Walking over Kenley Aerodrome at about 6pm on Sunday 7th June and could hear the grumble of Merlins in the distance...

A large dark flying object was observed in the vicinity of the Biggin circuit which I assume was the Lanc; must have been about seven miles away - my hearing is much better than my eyesight!

Where is this mysterious RAF CONNINGSBY so may people allude to?
I was once resident at RAF CONINGSBY myself, which was full of V-bombers at the time (that's how long ago it was - perhaps it's been renamed since).
