Does anyone have a copy of that picture in the press way back of the KLM Cabincrew standing atop the stretched Upper Deck of the 747 ?

I didn't see that one coming!

The picture was in the UK press but I'm not sure which airport they were at.

This happened about 3 years ago, if I remember correctly. Somewhere in the far/middle east.
It was in quite a few papers around the world (frontpage in the Netherlands).
While on the ramp, after a nightstop, the crew (F/O and 2 or 3 C/A) climbed on the roof of the B747 for a bit of surfing ;).
Afterwards the crew were suspended for awhile. http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/frown.gif

I have a black and white copy of that particular picture stuck on the cover of my flight safety manual :)
Have you tried the internet archives of www.telegraaf.nl (http://www.telegraaf.nl) or www.nrc.nl (http://www.nrc.nl) ?
Apparently the picture was a fake; but boy did it look FUN! ;)

Flapsforty: Thanks. I tried both sites and couldn't figure out how to find the search engines. Dutch language stumbling block!

Mijn Nederlands is schlect, nog maar een klein(e?) beetje, but try "zoek" or "bezoek".
Mind, "bezoek op internet" will search the internet, not the site. :) Hope I'm not being too obvious here.

Tried but still no luck. Thanks Pax.
Even waded through 651 KLM 747 pix at www.airliners.net (http://www.airliners.net) , with no joy.

This incident happened on 10th September 1997 in Guatamala City. Two pictures were taken by Belgian reporter Tim van Dirven from the "De Morgen". I found those pictures on the website www.telegraaf.nl (http://www.telegraaf.nl) ; then press "archief" ; then in the upper search engine type the word "dansend". Scroll down to the KLM article from this date. I don't know how to put those pictures on Pprune (is that possible?) Atlas, if you leave email I can send them to you.

If you have stood on top of the 747 fuse before, you will know that its a bloody long way down and not much to grab on the way past. but if you havent - its like standing at the top of a two storey slippery dip without a cushy water / soft landing at the bottom!
