Congrats Happy Dad. I too had a son who went to Afganistan with the Aus army in the reconstruction force. April to November last year, came back to Sydney, no one to meet him, taxi to the barracks, rang the duty sarg, told to sleep in the guard house, and given a general crap time for the next week till posted to Brisbane. Nice way to treat your returning troops. Hardest thing is the phone calls while he was away, hopeing that it was not the Army ringing up, most times it was him ringing from his base.

Brilliant. What great news. It's very, very hard dealing with the separation when the boys and girls are in harm's way. Military families are a breed apart.
