777-300ER/747-400ER stand size

What minimum size of aircraft stand - in terms of square metres would be required to accommodate either a 777-300ER or 747-400ER, without impinging on adjacent stands.? Would 7,000 square metres suffice?

The 744ER is the same size as a standard 744. Likewise the 773ER is the same as the 773.

Are you after the dimensions generally for the 744/773 or did you think that the stands are different for the ERs?

I made a right balls-up of the dimensions..It should have read "7,000 square metres" instead of square feet!:ugh:

And yes I was assuming that both ER aircraft were bigger/larger/longer.:confused:

7000 is plenty. If you want exact dimensions, then you would be looking at a typical 80x80 box giving 6400sqm. So 7000 is fine. Works out at about 83m if my flight computer serves me correctly!

And yes, the ER variants are the same as the standard 744 and 773.

Could this be the first regular EDI full time 'jumbo' stand for regular daily use
that would not restrict the use of adjacent stands.?

Did Airbus not design the A380 to fit the standard 80m x 80m stands at the many airports throughout the world where these aircraft are handled?

Under the Stand 33 contract the infrastructure firm will provide a new 7,000 metre square pavement quality concrete stand and taxiway.

Hate to say this Joe but the dimensions may include the taxiway, so not big enough.
