BA297 a 767 on route from LHR to ORD departed LHR at 15:07 at 18:40 it returned to GLA. At 20:55 the flight departed GLA for LHR landing at 22:06. At 23:30 it departed LHR again to continue to ORD.

Does anyone know what happend??

G-BNWC. Understand medical diversion and crew out of hours to continue to ORD. Therefore returned to LHR for the flight to be re-crewed and continued from LHR to ORD with a fresh crew.

They wanted to position the fresh crew from LHR to GLA but this was not accepted by the union.

Dunno, Only a guess but I reckon Flightrider has got it. Positioning a crew to GLA to then operate to ORD would have generated a pretty lengthy two sector day, which may have been outside Union agreements....

Perhaps there is a need to establish which union, the flight crew's or the cabin crew's!
