Can we transfer/add a type rating to a JAA ATPL/H from a FAA ATPL/H?

Forgive me if this question has been asked before, but I could not find valid information on LASORS.
Can a type rating be added on from a license to the other? If so/not so, which are the requirements?

I think you need to have at least 500 hours on type and may still have to do a skill test.
