The October 1955 BOAC timetable has a Stratocruiser once weekly LHR/BDA/BGI/POS.

Thanks for the reply but do you know when the first direct flight from London to Barbados was ?
Well, Laker did LGW-BGI direct in the 1970s on the Caribbean Airways flights.

You mean a nonstop flight?
The earliest I can find is summer 1970 with VC10.

Gee thanks Renfrew - yes a non stop flight to Barbados, I think it was 1970 but my friend says it was earlier.

Well, if the first non-stop BA service was in 1970. I'd be willing to bet that Caledonian would have operated some non-stop charters with their B707-320C's between 1968 and 1970 - BGI was a popular destination for the old "affinity-group" charters as I recall, especially in the summer and at Christmas.

My logbook indicates operating London- Barbados direct in August 1969.
I am sure this would not be the earliest VC10 operation given from memory this was a regular schedule.
