this article is such a waste of time.

if an airline loses money on a route it doesnt matter what agreement it has with the airport - it wont be able to continue operating. UNless of course the airport says ''we will cover ALL your losses'' That is the ONLY way you can guarantee any airline operating at your airport withstanding loses.

Come on guys, have people lost their common sense!?

Durham Tees Valley are landed with a massive legal bill. thats their own fault.

But Mr Justice Davis ruled the terms were too vague to be enforceable and, finding for bmibaby, has left the airport with legal bills approaching £1 million.

The above quote says it all to me. Whoever drafted the agreement should be shot. Nothing to do with the relationship between regional airports or subsidies or pressure from airlines etc. Just get the drafting right and the contract will be enforceable.

It's to no-one's benefit if intransigent airports keep airlines to the letter, forcing them to the wall.

Work together, people!
