View Full Version : A question on Ryanair delivery flights

Hi all,
Planning a long haul of Flight Sim out of KBFI to EIDW simulating a Ryanair delivery flight.
Obviously the B738 doesn't have the range to fly it direct, so I would assume that modifications are made. Can anyone confirm this, and if so what?
If I have to modify the fuel tanks on the FS model then that's fine.

Cheers,
Jonjo

Full fuel load from Boeing field. Tech stop at Keflavik.

You wouldn't do it direct, you'd fly to the US East Coast, Halifax or Keflavik, top up the tanks and fly it across the Atlantic from there. If you're just carrying fuel you should have the range to do that easily.

LOL = I don't know with (MOL) Michael O'leary being the boss, I wouldn't be surprised if he ordered them to fly 'non-stop'!!

He is certainly a 1 off!!

Seen lots of them flying from Boeing Field direct to Dublin over the years.

Speaking as one who has never gone down this path, preferring the joys of the slight whiff of aviation fuel and a good Nikon with me out in the ( not so ) fresh air, I have a question.

In flying the simulated flight from Boeing Field to say Dublin, are you actually in front of a PC for the flight in real time? 10 hours or such?

Unless you choose to speed up the simulation speed, or stop partway through and position the aircraft elsewhere, yes you are!

Do you have a simulated bunk on-board:)

Almost all of them make it direct from KBFI to Dub. Usually takes about 8:30 and they usually arrive with about 3000kg of fuel remaining.
