We need
1/ meetings/forum nights to discuss it
2/ A Vote, so our unified voice is heard and we all know where we stand.

The AOA must call a Vote.

The company want us all on COS 08, we can all have our say on the present offer and then go from there.

Isn't that the whole reason for having a bloody Union in the first place?

well?

So what about the 40% who don't belong to the AOA. The resultant vote will mean nothing!!!!!

We have voted on many issues effecting our contracts before, indeed housing was rejected by a low total membership % number, they went back to the table and improved it.

WE MUST SEND A UNITED MESSAGE back to NR on how we feel.

We know that most junior crew and some senior crew WILL REJECT this. What the hell have we to lose by voting?

At the very least it will buy us time.

I don't accept the arguement that it's up to us individually. This is no different to any other issue we voted on in the past. We are ALL being asked to go onto the same contract COS 08. therefore it is easy for us to collectively VOTE on wether we accept it or not.

Every member will have his own opinion on the COS 08 and will get to VOTE. The total YES and NO votes will be tallied and then a democratic union will have it's say.

Isn;t that what we are a UNION for?

Otherwise it's all a waste of time.

Housing deal thats just a side issue that will streamline the housing departments to deal with both Dragon and CX.. we will all get that as that is simplification of market forces.

dont think that is a sweetener to go to Cos 08.... The company knows it saves em money in the long run and we on Cos 99 will follow eventually!

Well we voted on Housing, RP and other things didn't we?

They were knocked back the first time and improvements made eventually.

We know that the top 200 A scalers will accept COS 08, BUT the rest probably wont. So I'd say a vote would come out overwhemlingly NO to COS 08 in it's current form.

leading to the company and the AOA going back to the table to nutout the problem areas.

isn't that how it's supposed to work?

You don't see QF or AA not voting on such an important aspect of their careers do you?

We are all being asked to join COS08 by the management, indeed they want us ALL on the same COS08, so to say it's all an individual thing therefore we can't vote is a cop out.

The simple task of voting allows ALL to have their say.

We then go with the majority.

All Airlines have the same things, they all have SO's FO's and Capts with different career options BUT they still VOTE on their EBA

At the very least this would buy us more time to think this through.

9 more days is laughable.

Yeah I agree a vote would be good adn yes the way it should work is correct. but this is not normal. It would be good if the AOA said do nothing by the deadline until the company allows us to have a vote! That too would force a look at the problem areas!

NUMERO CRUNCHERO I know your lurking this forum tonight:---

Answer this question please mate,

Why can't we have a VOTE on COS08?

How is this different to other important issues in the past that needed VOTING on. We are all being asked to accept COS 08, different Pilot's have different needs/opinions and a vote caters to that perfectly.
