G'day all

Just had my latest class one medical with all fine apart from the ECG !

doc informs me that the pr interval is slightly pronlonged (.18 i think he said) and is sending the ECG to the caa without completing a new certificate.

I do a lot of exercise running 50-60k per week

Any ideas what the caa will make of this, and how long they will take to respond, Im not grounded but only have 8 days till my current medical expires.

Any info gratefully received

Cheers

Hi,

The maximum normally for a P R Interval is 0.12 to 0.21 of a second, according to the book Cardiac Arrhythmias by Dr David H Bennett. You obviously are fit and the PR interval may resolving itself on exercise, so therefore don't be surprised if the CAA do not want to put you on a treadmill and exercise under controlled conditions. This could be just 'normal or a normal variant'

Agree entirely with air pig ; the normal PR interval is 0.12 - 0.20 sec as you'll see here

Your first post mentioned 0.18 - so where's the problem ?
Sounds well in the normal range to me !
Best advice would be to ask the AME to clarify - might just be a bit of misunderstanding.
