Not the Australian St Kilda, the other one.:p

Anyone flown over it or been there ? Is the PuffInn still open to visitors or now only military types?

..Thinking of going, y'se:)

Sadly, since the military site was taken over by civvvy contractor QinetiQ, the Puff Inn and all the rest of the military section is now off limits to civilians.

The helipad and the "International Terminal" can be accessed, by special permission and with lots of very strict conditions.

Contact the Warden for details.

The daily ferry still runs in summer.

It may be worth having a chat with the National Trust, they, not Quntetic have the final say on what goes on there.
I lived and worked on the Western Isles around 12 years ago and had unlimited access to St Kilda, we often went across in the company inflateable or the S61 helicopter, but then again I never need to ask anyone for permission.

The man to ask is Michaeal McLean, Airport Manager, Benbecula Airport.

Of course, It's called St. Kilda because it was settled by St Kildans. Probably a good spot for buying a tweed jacket. I imagine.
