Hello,

A friend of mine told long time ago that there is a relation (on some databases) between the ND ranges and the Waypoints displayed (if you press the Waypoints button on the EFIS control panel).

For example, on range 10NM you can display the final approach fixes waypoints or equivalent

On range 20NM you can display the initial approach fixes waypoints.

On range 40NM you can display the SID/STAR waypoints.

On range 80NM and 160nm you can display the Airways Waypoints.

the reason for this question is I noticed when I press the Waypoints on the EFIS control panel...what I see is only waypoints that are very close to the airport...like final waypoints (FAF)...that is on range 10,20,40 and 80.

All ranges display the same waypoints...even more cluttered and no way to see anything because most waypoints are on top of each other.

Is there any document to confirm this information?

thanks
