The other post was locked... So had to start a new one:

Noticed that all four B737-200 aircraft are being advertised for sale by an American firm:

Does anyone know how well they are doing on the Perth - Derby route with this current 'economic' crisis... Be interested to see what loads they are getting now?

Anyone?

Please dont let this thread be a bashing thread like the other

What the? Haven't we all seen this before? Maybe the mods are over the same thread being reincarnated over and over again. Just a thought!

Stands up to get some popcorn and braces for any replies!!!!

OK let's try again with NO libel of any individuals. Surely a certain amount of company-bashing within reason is acceptable if backed up by fact? Otherwise Pprune really becomes rather pointless. May as well set up a company forum somewhere else like maybe the AFAP website.

Anyway, where were we? OJ reported to have sold all aircraft (by none other than Heavycargo himself) but suddenly they are supposed to have a new CEO. Anyone know what is going on and who this CEO is?

I heard that the 727-277 that was for sale by American, has been recently sold to another American leasing company?

So where does it leave the 727-200's? All up for sale, by a US firm...

Could they be cashing in from the financial crisis & obtain cheap quality 737-300/400/500 for the Derby route?

Who knows

Crew rest.

When do you announce?
Same time as the sale? What will they fly if you've sold the aircraft? Where will they fly - no Norfolk, do defence force charters, no Bali, no mining contracts?
Hardly makes sense.

What's happened? Has the cat got your tongue? No announcement on CEO/HFO? No sale? No sense?

So many questions, yet still no answers!:ugh:

Yesterday Australian Indian Ocean Territory Airlines [AIOTA] lauched a once weekly service - without any government subsidy - to christmas Island from Perth using an Ozjet Boeing 737-200

I hope they give an iota, but maybe best summed up as 'brave'. Good luck!

No Christmas Island to Perth?

Why would you fly Perth to KL via Christmas Island?

I hope Aiota's operation is a step up on their schedule preparation:-

MH 737 scheduled to leave CX on the return before it arrives on the post June 9 schedule????

OJ aircraft goes to KL and schedule doesn't show a return to PH????

Ozjet's "up in the air" situation must be taking its toll on staff and management. I can't imagine that it would be be conducive to a good working environment.

It surely must be frustrating living in Perth, operating 3 times a week to Derby, and now this, a what would have to be seen as gamble to operate over to Christmas, then KL...

Hope Ozjet get paid in advance for every rotation, otherwise they would ultimately be taking the risk anyhow.....

With Airasia selling Perth - Bali for $89 return starting in July I'd say the beancounters at OZJET would be a little worried.

That's Pac Blue, Jetstar and now Airasia all starting Perth Bali in the last six months.

[QUOTE]....and sulked off to the west/QUOTE]

OJ finished the NLK contract a couple of weeks early, a C check is being done on one and all current work (expanding a little?) being in the west does make sense to move the equipment west... consolidating is a nicer description than sulked.

XRlent100, I would think that even AirAsia would be worried about having $89 fares to Bali (if the whole flight was full of those fares of course).

Yield Management, you will find that most of those tickets will not be sold at 89....
