I´m thinking to apply for the B737 Capt position at Copa, so before send mi CV I would like to know about the pay check, roaster, housing, way of life at Panama,..............

I would apreciate any info.

You kidding right?
Copa has no intentions of hiring anyone this year, they are fat on FO's and some are quialify for CA slots already. The only CA slots open are for the EMB190 and they will be fill by FO already waiting. As far as new A/C this year, I think they are only gettin 2 or 3 73's.

Salary is U$S 3600, housing U$S 800, per diem fix (once a month) U$S 600, per diem until 63 hours U$S 1284, per extra hour above 63 hours U$S 64. To these numbers you have to apply taxes, approximately 20 percent, at least.
I was told this year they won´t hire pilots. All pilots fly around 80 hours per month so will receive U$S 6000 in your hand. Housing is paid every 3 months. If you have vacations (30 days) you won´t receive per diem so the only thing you will have is your salary plus housing less taxes, all this equal to U$S 3500 in your hand.

That is the captain´s salary, 6000 (as much) after taxes. Prices in Panama is similar to USA.
Only eight days off per month and they are allowed to give your holidays every two years.

I dont know where are you flying at, but 6000$ after taxes for Capt is not that bad for latin america. I make less for widebody PIC, so............

it is not 6K - it is 5K after taxes
