Lost more than 50% of its flying for DHL intra US when the company decided to do international express only (so no, not hiring if that's what you meant)...
Flying for TNT between EBLG and KJFK...
Leased 5 767s to AmeriJet (I think)...

I think 4 are in storage, 12 still flying for DHL. The rest probably added to the charter subfleet. They fly a lot out of KMIA down South. Used to fly to Chitown for ANA too, don't know if that's still current.

"I think 4 are in storage, 12 still flying for DHL."

Not sure how many can be considered in storage, but 14 are flying for DHL.

"The rest probably added to the charter subfleet. They fly a lot out of KMIA down South.”

There are 6 aircraft (more or less) based in MIA. 1 of these flies for DHL, the rest fly for a variety of other customers. Most of these trips go to the Caribbean, Central America or South America. 1 aircraft is based in LAX and flies for AeroMexpress to Mexico and Central America. 1 aircraft is currently flying for TNT from KJFK to EBLG. It does a turn to BIKF on Sundays.

“Used to fly to Chitown for ANA too, don't know if that's still current.”

The ANA flying is done for now. The rumor mill says we’ll be flying for them again once the economy picks up and they complete their move to Okinawa.

That makes 22 currently flying. I believe more than the 14 flying for DHL are committed to them (spares), but I don’t know the number. Only 16 of the aircraft ABX has in its fleet are SF mod. The rest are a proprietary PC mod and will not accept “A” containers on the upper deck. Some of these are slated for SF conversion; at least 1 is in Tel Aviv now with most of the work done, 1 more just went over, and the 3rd is said to be going in the very near future. When it’s all said and done ABX will have about 34 767-200SF’s, some of which will be dry leased to other operators.

ABX is currently furloughing crewmembers, and is in contact negotiations with the crewmember’s union. Management currently indicates that it has requirements for 247 crewmembers. Furloughed crewmembers retain recall rights for 7 years provided they don’t resign their positions. Management is offering a pittance for severance pay and wants furloughed crewmembers to resign in exchange for receiving it. This is bone of contention (one of several) between the Union and Management. Regardless of how all this turns out it is unlikely ABX will be hiring anytime in the near future.

ABX’s parent, ATSG also owns Air Transport International, Capitol Cargo International, both of whom fly for BAX-Schenker and now DHL, and Cargo Aircraft Management, an aircraft leasing unit. CAM owns or has first right of refusal on another 10 767-200s, some of which are already converted to SF mod and either operated by ATI or leased to other operators. They also have a few 757-200s which are leased.

Thanks for the update.
Saw an ANA 767 in the distance at KORD last night. Are they using their own aircraft now or is it sourced elsewhere ?

Wall-e, somehow, I am starting to believe all you do is phishing for infos here and publish'em for profit in that magazine of yours" Air Transport International". That's not nice. It would be OK if you do it for free, but in God's name mate, your charges are are out of this world. Hope I am wrong. Mate this is an aviation web page for pilots by pilots.

ANA Cargo 767s are flown by AJV from NRT & KIX. Unfortunately we've seen our PANC/KORD trips go down to 2 per week and, if they haven't done so already, very shortly it will go to 1 per week. Luckily we're still ops normal with our other destinations but, for the time being, the USA has been drastically reduced.

Apparently ABX recall 28 furloughed pilots!

12th Mar 2010, 11:41
Unfortunately they called 28 pilots to see if they would come back if recalled. So far no one has actually been brought back (as far as I know)
Hope they do
