I do apologise if this information is somewhere already but most of the links in the "read this before posting" are out of date, and I couldn't find the answer anywhere.
I'm about to ring for an appointment for my first class 1 at gatwick, and when I checked the prices on the CAA website I found 2 different class 1s. A JAR and a UK. The JAR one is more expensive and comprehensive. I assume this is the one I'll need if I'm intending to become a commercial airline pilot? But I don't want to spend an extra £100 or so for the sake of it.
