Specifically, I'm looking for some pictures of the approach to an oil rig at night. Can't find any on the internet - way too many pix in the thread of pix (unless you can point me to some specifically).
It's for a presentation I'm doing at the CHC Safety Summit on the differences between FW ILS approaches and RW approaches to oil rigs at night.
Help!

Shawn

Maybe this video will be of use. It was taken from the DV window (LHS) of a Dauphin during a night shuttle in the Forties Field (Central North Sea).

Just take a picture of a Christmas tree in a pitch black gym hall and you won't be too far wrong.

This image is completely made up in photoshop but to the best of my ability this is what a small unmanned platform in the southern UK looks like at about a mile. In the real world 1] the sort of camera one can carry on a flight isn't sensitive enough to capture a realistic image and 2] in conditions like this you really ought not be feckin about taking pictures. I'd welcome any comments.

Thanks one and all for the pictures I did get.
I half expected someone to say that 'it's too dangerous to take pictures and cameras don't work that well for this' - and both are so true.
I'll put the presentation up after it's been given. Carries on the theme from DD's work in another thread.

With respect to the EC155 video on 'MD900 Explorer's' post (#9), this might be an appropriate time for these, and other, pilots to read the 'what is the circle on the helideck for' thread. The referenced paper on the use and abuse of deck markings can be found at:

http://www.helidecks.org/download%20files/Touchdown%20and%20Positioning%20Marker%20-%20Paper%20V1.5.pdf

The relevant passage is Paragraph 4.1.
