A Cherokee Arrow had a slight mishap this morning, with the nose gear collapsing on landing. Both runways were closed briefly, but are now open.

Photo courtesy of someone emailing it to me, of the nice curly propeller blades.

As all the oldies seem to say:

"oh well"

I did my first big around Australia trip in LFP, or as my wife used to call her - Little Fairy Penguin.

\My wife nearly wet her pants when I made a call into Birdsville towards the end of the trip - "All stations Birdsville, Little Fairy Penguin, Arrow, 10 miles west...". Got some laughs on the ground too.

Poor old LFP ... one of the fastest Arrows around courtesy of standard tanks and three-blade scimitar prop (which looks decidely more scimitar now). I remember he pulling nearly 150 kts for me one day.

Flog, what are you flying nowadays?

She was always quicker than all comers as far as Arrow's are concerned.

Walrus, I'm punting around in a Yak-52 and various 206's dropping skydivers.

That will get the anti-Essendon airport brigade out waving placards!

It's only a nose gear collapse, for goodness sake! Don't get too worked up now!

Glad to hear that 2 POB are OK.

Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing.

Flog,

On my days off I haunt LIL as well; usually begging to given an A36 to play with. That your 52 tied down out there?

Re the photo,
Anyone recognize/know the bloke driving the tug. It would happen to be Jim Bradley would it ?

Isn't LFP an MFS aircraft?

Not the same aircraft but nasty all the same. Did have a bit of a giggle at the nosewheel bouncing next to the aircraft all cartoon-like.
