Hi

I've been having this discussion with colleges of mines on the topic or how much time and experience would you need under your belt in order not to be considered "Low time pilots"? Where do you say is the bench mark in considering a guy as being experience. I've come to a point where I've got over 2500 hrs/ over 2300 hrs on a multi pilot turbo but can't figure out if i am qualified enough to land an airline job. I've also been toying with the idea of doing a type rating in the hope of improving my chances.......

Does it make sense doing a type rating with no hrs on type or should more than 2000 hrs multi pilot experience on a turbo make any difference in landing a job and not being bracket as low time?

Many folks seem to have many different ideas and suggestions......would love your take on it. :ugh:

Think its all relative really. If you're flying a 747 then 1000hrs might not be that much however if you're just bumbling around in a 152 then that'd probably make you quite high hours.
