View Full Version : Dislocated Wrist

I am currently earth bound due to a dislocated wrist. I managed to dislocate it after falling onto my outstretched hand, have had it put back into place and am currently heavily bandaged from my fingertips to my elbow which is securing a splint to prevent any use or movement of my arm and in a sling. It is a total nuisance but have just got to go along with it until it is healed. It is still fairly painful but the sling does kind of help with that a bit.

Does anyone have any experience of this kind of injury and how long it might take to get back to normal?? Also any advice that anyone might have would be appreciated.

Hi,

keep in touch with your doctor and insist on mobilizing your wrist as soon as possible with an emphasis on movement. Ideally do this under the supervision of a physiotherapist. Keep the immobilized phase at an absolute minimum.

Don't bother, it's going to be alright in 3-6 weeks, this joint is healing quite fast as long as there's nothing broken.

Kind Regards,
Pete
