Just an idea this but when (not if) they allow Concorde to fly again I wondered whether any of you out there would be interested in a PPrune Concorde charter bash!
Yes I know it would cost a bit of money but I am sure we would have a lot of fun and there is bound to be some publicity me thinks!
How do you feel?

Surely would be great PR for BA to fill a Concorde or two with aviation professionals keen to show faith in the old girl. I'm in...

Hey WOK.

I didn't read this until after you'd edited but I bet it said 'dairies'.

Am I right? ;)

Dibs on the jumpseat.
BA aircraft please.

Came into LHR a couple of weeks ago,
Saw three lined up perfectly side by side from 1000' on approach, Beautiful and still sad.

I'm game too, as long as the destination is worth travelling to that is. Much as I like flying the SSC, going around in big circles is not my idea of fun though ....

Anyway, send it off to BDA and you may reserve 1A for me.

Definitely interested...subject to finances. I gave up on getting another flying job in UK long ago, and am departing next year to Godzone to study, of all things, Air Accident Investigation. I always promised myself a quick whizz round the Bay of Biscay or anywhere for that matter on the old girl before it's too late. She'll be back so count me in if the stock markets go up again !!!!

Just read on the teletext today (so presumably it's in the papers as well), that BA are hoping to have their Concordes flying again by March or April.
Bodes well for our whizz !!!

Fireflybob,

How's things ?
I was speaking to the lady who does (did!)all the Nav Planning for the Concorde fleet this week.

I think spring is the timetable they are working on at the moment but due to the life expiry on the A/c all the special charters have all been binned!

Concorde will operate JFK/BGI only....

I'm told that schedule flights will begin again in April, with training/"test" flights before that - possibly before Christmas.

Sounds like a great setting for a PPRuNe bash. Concorde flight out to somewhere exotic, a slap-up meal, a few pints of the local wine or beer and home.

Count me in.

cheers

SS

PS don't forget the Gatwick PPRuNe bash on Dec 1. We could do some serious Concorde flight planning there.
