Q codes are great for winding up crusty ol' skippers...nothing riles them up more when the copilot knows more Q codes than they do. All in fun, of course, but now it seems my supply is running dry...QFU was perhaps my finest moment (magnetic orientation of runway in use...best used when setting up the APFDS, stating forexample "QFU is 262", then expressing surprise when the old boy looks unsure as to what you are talking about)...
So please, more Q codes, the more antiquated and rare the better...lets seee if we can compile the definitive list.
Yours subversively, Waldo.

I can remember but the odd one or two. How 'bout QUM - "Normal working may be resumed" ?

The definitive list already exists - in PANS-ABC. Have a word with the Tels guys in your local ATC unit - they should have a copy. It's no longer current, so they may not, but most old techies hang on to things like that...

Wasn't QRM "I am being interfered with"?

From the code for radio interference.

Try here: http://www.purchon.co.uk/radio/qcodes.html

or even better: http://www.anchorag.demon.co.uk/endanger.htm

QAU - "I am about to jettison fuel." Should be useful on a long haul...

Yikes!! I never realised there were so many of them. Makes me wonder how I survived all these years without them.

The ultimate site:
[Q Code Site (http://www.kloth.net/qcodes.htm)

Found these a few weeks ago and have been using them in the watch to annoy the Watch Managers!!!

Start with QUX (Any Nav/Met Warnings) any brief your base Ops to use on the Company Freq!!!!

Tafor all the info. I got a handy reference sheet to put in the navbag. I'm joining the electric 777 fleet next month, but I'll try and keep some old traditions alive...just for my own amusement, you understand...
