UK readers may be aware that a helicopter pilot contestant on Saturday's Who Wants to be a Millionaire "lost" £218,000 when he guessed wrongly the answer to the question: What was the name of Amy Johnson's aircraft in which she flew solo to Australia in 1930? His choices (after using his 50:50) were "Pegasus" and "Jason".
How many of you would have got the answer right and are interested in aviation history?

Anyone who has seen a picture or painting of the aircraft, anyone who as a kid built the plastic kit, or the Balsa one, it really wasn't hard. Now if they'd asked for the reg, only a spotter could have got it.
But its only money, he said. Hope he meant it!
PS: The other great Who Wants.... aviation Q related to Linbergh's Transatlantic Flight. NY-Paris or St Louis-Dublin?

JN- or for that matter, anyone who's been to the Science Museum where you'll find G-AAAH (sorry).
Couldn't believe he didn't know that though.

Except the Q said Lindbergh was the first to cross the Atlantic non-stop. He wasn't - Alcock & Brown were before him, as were the entire crew of a British airship (R34?). Lindbergh was the first solo.
