Does anybody have any information on this airfield, in terms of restaurants/towns nearby/things to do etc.? Thinking of going there on Saturday. :) :) :)

Haven't been for years (unfortunately) but on my two visits I found it very friendly. Airport Manager gave us a lift in his car. Kortrijk is ok, but nothing really of note. Not far away is Ypres/ Ieper (Wipers in WW1 slang), very old and famous, plenty of cheap hotels, restaurants etc. Worth going just to see the ceremony every evening at the Menin Gate (memorial to 55000+ dead of WW1 who have no known grave). Every evening since the 1920s, the police close the road through the Gate and the city firemen sound the Last Post. 'Lump in your throat' is an understatement.
