Hi all,

I'm thinking of putting in an application to Air Niugini and was wondering if there are any current or former PX pilots out there that would have any suggestions?

Are they hiring at the moment or is this likely to dry up like the rest of the world?

Realistically, what sort of experience level is necessary?

Is it a good company to work for and is it safe (the airline and the country)?

How badly is the economic situation likely to hit PX?

Any inside information would be greatly appreciated:)

There was a story on lateline, or something similar suggesting that Papua New Guinea will advert the 'economic crisis' thanks to a massive LNG plant being built coupled with their raw resources

From what I've read, PNG's economy is almost completely dependent on mining and mining seems to be in a huge slump worldwide. I would have thought this makes PNG (and, therefore, Air Niugini) particularly vulnerable.

Has there been any sign of PX cutting back or is it business as usual?

Hi Nirgal,
I have a few friends working for Airnogat.....to them Its a very good company to work for, very safe I think the best in PNG, I think at the moment they are still looking for some pilots for their dash8 fleet and I heard they might be getting more dash8 in the near future.
