Hello everyone

I am an aviation researcher and I am looking after a high resolution picture of the Gloster Meteor G-AIDC. An airplane that in 1946-1947 visited a lot of countries in Europe.
Who can help me?

Thanks

Bart Vandamme

I am sure that the front cover of an earlyish (1970's/80's?) Aeroplane Monthly featured a head-on colour picture of this aeroplane. Might be worth contacting the Editor?

Aeroplane Monthly did publish this aircraft on it's front cover of the June 1976 issue. The article on Page 319 has two black and white photographs, one a plan view of the aircraft flying and the other a view looking at the starboard side of the aircraft.

In late April/early May the Meteor was demonstrated before the Swedish chiefs of staff. Shortly afterwards, whilst being flown by a Belgian pilot at Melsbroek Brussels,G-AIDC was seriously damaged in a landing accident. The aircraft was written off, but the centre section, outer wing panels and rear fuselage were salvaged and incorporated in the prototype Meteor T.Mk 7 trainer, G-AKPK.
