There is a very concerning rumour doing the rounds tha JAL have shutdown Jalways. This is obviously of concern to all us expats flying in Japan. If this is so, could somebody in the know give us what the possible reasons for the shutdown are;financial, problems with the Japanese pilots union, or what?

Weido, ANA and JAL are quite separate and un-related companies.

Competitors in fact.

Therefore a decision by JAL to terminate expats should have no bearing on recruitment at ANA.

I am at air japan and the we heard last week that they are planning classes of 4 FO every other month for the rest of the year but this could always change. Heard that Crew Resources is going to give some sort of hireing preference to JALway people. Not confirmed
