hi guys...!!!Actually currently im holding PPL jaa.,but quite confused for my next step.,i ve 2 ways infront of me.
1)OXFORD- i can start with oxford waypoint programme after i finish with all requirements including 150 hrs and atpl done through oaa always..and at the end holding arnd 250 hrs with the name of oxford.(with the hope of help from oxford to get my first job)
2)American flight school-i can go to american flight school where i can finish up all my faa ratings and then convert them into jaa always there and doing instructor over there..
\Problem (confusion)-after completion of oxford i will hold arnd 250 hrs with schools name...instead from america i will come back with faa and jaa ratings and with arnd 1500 hrs.
my main confusion is if the flight hrs*(sumthing arnd 1500 hrs) or Oxford is gonna help me more in getting me sum job.i repeat i will be attending waypoint programme so its modular course..not integrated (i ve heard that oxford hepls graduates which had done integrated instead of modular)...
.so any advice will be appreciated......!!!!thankx

Oxford is pretty expensive, have you not looked at other Modular schools with a good reputation? That way you can get training for a lower price but the same quality.

as a modular student oxford will provide no help whatsoever in getting you a job they only give employment help to their integrated students. In fairness to them, they do make this quite clear from the outset of modular groundschool. IMO OAA's waypoint program is the worst value of all modular options due to it being the most expensive, the chaotic flight training in goodyear and the state of their aircraft in both goodyear and kidlington. This is why a large majority (including myself) of oxfords CBR groundschool students choose to do their flight training elsewhere.

thnkx..,,but im still without any decision.do u ve any else advice or sum other flight schools..or sum way with what i can hope to get sum job after completion...without any help of reccomendations..,,im holdin ppl jaa.,,but wanna continue always in europe instead of states.In states im sure tht ill be holding sumthin like unforzen atpl with both lic.faa and jaa.,,after doing flight instructor stuff.,,only thing i really dont like administration and people out there..so...any advice will be appreciated...thnkx again

I was a modular student!

I was called the DAY after Oxford sent my CV
Everybody is treated equally, I was treated no different to my Intergrated counterparts
The aircraft are suitable, America is indeed a ball-ache but the instruction is good (lucky for us modular boys its only 4-6 weeks).
The UK training is fanstastic, good routes, great staff and people are on hand to help, Isobel Hall Personally cleared up EVERY single issue I had, however Small.
There are bands of Students that go through Oxford who have a real Axe to Grind.
I'd love to know what experience of Oxford some of these guys have who consistently feel the need to slate the place.????????????
Oxford is expensive, there may be schools out there that some students work better with, but to say Oxford isn't up to scratch???? Crazy talk.I had my reservations, who wouldn't when parting with the figures involved in flight training. Regrets...............Only that I wish I'd done my PPL in the UK!! Oxford is a fine school, ask the people who went there, not the people who didn't.

Advice from someone who has done this himself, I am 39 and as such am a bit behind with this modern 'text speak' or as Orwell put it 'newspeak'.

First have a search, there is a tool at the top of this page.

Then make some phone calls, or go and visit FTO's.

I ask this, do you have a European Passport?
Are you a US citizen? If not you need a Work Permit, the same applies here in JAA land.

You want to be a Professional Pilot, then use some initiative, it will help you in the long run, on a cold dark wet night when you have a bus failure and engine problem you cannot just go and ask Pprune, you have to be self reliant.
I know this is not what you or any other person, who asks such things wants, I will not hold your hand for you and lead you, you must stand up for yourself.

One last thing, enjoy your flying, this has not been a personal attack.

I agree people should listen to the advice of people who went to the school.

I went to the school.

I found that CBR students were treated completely differently to APP students, maybe this wasn't your opinion, but it certain is mine and is certainly as valid as yours.

I stand by my comments on the aircraft, if it was a cheapy school then flying ancient equipment is fine, but this is a school charging more than almost any other school so i would expect a modern fleet with glass cockpit equipment and for this reason i chose to go elsewhere. (As did two thirds of my CBR course).

I don't think oxford is a terrible school and never said as much, I think it is poor value for money though.

regrets.... i regret not doing bristol distance learning.
