Hi iv'e only just joined pprune, and id like to get some advice prefrably from experienced cabin crew but any advice will be helpful. Iv'e had a very strong interest in becoming cabin crew since i was very little, but the only problem i have is my maths grade. I have an E but i have had a look on the easy jet and ryanair cabin crew recruitment pages and they have said i need GCSE standard maths and english they have'nt specificly said they need you to have a C grade. What i need to know can i apply with an E grade in math or do i need the C before i even begin thinking about applying for any airline, also i have C in english? Thank you x.

I also had a D in English and Maths, I've been accepted for easyJet and they never asked what grade I had. Good luck! :)

Thanks for the advice everyone its much appreciated. But also i have heard that its really hard to apply for BA and its an airline i want to apply to work with. As iv'e said i have an E in Maths so would it be hard to apply with an E grade because i understand that different airlines have different level of standards and the requirments needed. Any advice is grately appreciated. thanks. x

I don't work for or even applied for BA so don't really know much about there recruitment process, but I am sure someone on PPRuNe has so they will I'm sure give you some more info.... but according to there eligibility section of there website:

To be eligible to join Cabin Crew, you will need:

To be aged between 18 and 62 at the time of application
To be between 5ft 2in and 6ft 2in in height, with weight in proportion
To be physically fit
GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
The right to live and work within the EU
Previous customer service experience
A valid E.U. passport allowing unrestricted worldwide travel
To live within 45 minutes of the airport at which you are based (usually Heathrow or Gatwick).
Are prepared to conform to all British Airways Uniform Standards, and have no normally visible tattoos or body piercings. You may find you will be okay - some airlines make you sit a test to prove your competency.

With you being based in Surrey (depending whether its north or south) your in easy reach of Heathrow and Gatwick so have great opportunities at both airports.

At the moment, the aviation industry is suffering so not many are recruiting but I believe BMI may still have opening so might be worth a look.

Best of luck!
