Would anyone happen to know the max range on a 222b with aux fuel tanks fitted? Standard is 270nm:confused:

Around 400NM...not sure though

Gross is 8250. If you are at a weight of 7500 lbs, ISA temp of +3 at 6000', you can figure on about 500lb/hour at 137 knots TAS. At 550 lb/hr you are at 140 knots.

Std fuel is 1275lbs, another 310 or so available with an aux tank in the baggage compartment. A little over 400nm -rotorrookie was pretty close.

What kind of Aux tank?

How many 55 gallon (US) drums can you fit in the cabin of the aircraft?

Consider stripping the seats and interior to create the room....assuming you can find a way to secure them safely. Rig a pump and feed to the main tank.

Bell Auxiliary Fuel Kit, Upper. Bell Supplement 222-706-204. 48.4 gallons.

SASless I was thinking more along the lines of flying low level attatched to one of these ;)

Usually with drums you run out of weight capacity before you do room.

Air Alpha Greenland used have a certified ferry kit for their 222's, it was made of two 200L barrels that where put in the back,equipped to pump into main tank trough the main tank refill cap. 550pound extra fuel.
