I have been told that uk charter airline Couger are to add two more aircraft to their fleet. Anybody know what type? They operate B727s at the moment(I think).

Is it a Couger in the hanger or a Cougar in the hangar?

Forgive my ignorance, but how does the 727 fare with regard to noise regulations? I know Cougar aren't alone in operating them (and I'm presuming that they are hushkittted) but how much longer do they have and is it a case of massive de-rating?. .. .Cheers,. .Callltheball

there is no noise problem as the Cougar 727s are refitted with the "bigger" engines...re-certified to comply with stage 3...

Yeah, and they were getting a 757 recently as well!! . .. .Or were they, f?ck knows, they never bothered to tell those of us who were interviewed what happened to that plan.....not a good way to treat fellow aviators I think most would agree.. .. .Good luck if you go for an interview for the 727.

hey,. .. .I found Cougar impossible to deal with regarding recruitment !. .. .After calling them 4 times in a week, they still never got back - although, they called me initially !. .. .They either need crew, or they dont !

Hey guys, before the slagging match starts, lets make one thing clear. The market is constantly changing, thus the demands are forever changing. The owner of Cougar will NOT commit to anything that may not provide work for his airline, jobs for pilots and cabin crew, and ultimately money for his pocket. He is a careful man, unlike some who venture out into "dangerland". So, there will be a valid reason I supsect as to why you have not received anymore information concerning the 757 or any other ongoing project. Patience is worth having.. .. .Hope that helps.

Viking9,. .. .I appreciate Cougar's position. But civility is the cost of a phone call.. .. .The very least you expect is to be told of what is going on with your application when you are an experienced type rated pilot who has attended interview.. .. .No hard feelings, but they should have had the guts to call us and tell us it was off....

Is the owner of Cougar the same man who previously owned Sabre?

BB .....yes.

Then if thats the case it doesn't surprise me that the company is messing people about. Sabre was an absolute shambles and he is one of the most jumped up arrogant men i have ever had the displeasure to meet.

Belgian Beauty - obviously not the same man then !! Oh and by the way, the owner doesn't conduct the interviews so it's no good blaming him. Look a bit deeper next time.

There no need to get snotty Viking everyones entitled to their opinion! And im sure its the same man, if you took your head out of his A$** for long enough then maybe you would see the whole picture!

Oh dear Belgian, how wrong you are. I have no desire to be up anyone's **** let alone the owner of Cougar. Belgian by name, Belgian by nature it seems. Good luck to you, but luck is not what you need. Manners might be a good starting point.
