Not sure why my post about this subject did not appear 2 days ago...

Anyway the Qatar Airways placed an advertisement at the Straits Times on Saturday looking for Flight Deck crew thru a Walk in Interview exercise at Singapore 2 to 6 Mar 09 At Marina Mandarin Hotel, 0800 - 1500H, Level 1 Aquarius Room.

Please refer the link for details. Qatar1 on Flickr - Photo Sharing! (http://www.flickr.com/photos/26393382@N04/3296374335/)

I think they could be aiming at the local pilots who are asked to go for no pay leave etc.

Think that the previous interviews that Qatar held in Singapore, were attended averagely - but this one in March may have a far better attendance - especially now that the Australia base has been given the " non retrenchment" notice.

I am in North America. I have applied for the 777 position a month ago,I realize it will take a while to get a response, but because of my particular situation I need to get in with them sooner. do you think is it prudent
or necessary for me to just go to Singapore for the open interview?
I have the time and travel will cost me nothing. Thank you in advance
for your inputs.

this thread should be on the 'Middle East forum' as is all the chatter about the Goat.

L1011:
I must say, if you have the time and the travel is free.. then why ask. No one in the interview panel cares where you come or came from. in other words, you do not have to be living and working in SIN to get an interview. But, they are on the hunt for those less fortunate chaps how are now or about to experience the economic squeeze.
it's prime hunting grounds for QA.

like they say, if you can't get the people to come on thier own, then go out there and get them yourself.

casio man

the T&C's are basically.. come, work, stay.. heres your money.

I'll ask the mod to move this to middle east if possible. Please help to ask mod too.

Does anybody know if these interviews are for basing in Singapore or Doha? Am unfamiliar with the Qatar pilot bases...

If the openings are to be based in Singapore, when are the proposed start dates?

Thanks in advance
