Anybody have any experience with this Chelton system?

Anybody have more information as to when this aircraft will be available?

They have been test flying it at least 9 months now if that is any indication - see the "SP" title by the tail - and this page (http://www.airliners.net/photo/AgustaWestland-A-109SP-Grand/1356783/M/) indicates the photo was taken 09-May-08

I flew FlightLogic extensively in an Explorer. What questions do you have?

This does not appear to be the standard Chelton Flight Logic system - slight differences in front panel, knobs. This may be a new system that Chelton developed initially for the canceled Bell 417, and which I heard rumors of at HAI last year.

I have experience with the standard Chelton Flight Logic system in my E480B. Overall, I am quite pleased. The synthetic vision is first generation and a bit primitive by today's standards, and the controls are unlike any other EFIS/FMS/GPS navigators I have used, but one gets past this quickly.

The HEMS Operator (Rega) Switzerland has ordererd
some new A109 SP. Rega has developed the SP together with Augusta Westland.

Rega is flying in his HEMS Operation always single pilot.

Thanks FAFE, thatīs what I thought, about a year away, what really puzzles me is the lack of info from Agusta, I got the photos above from a person in PA last week, and that was just like an unofficial thing, you canīt get offcial info anywhere.

Also heard that all Koala production is moving to India, that should be interesting.

I guess they have their reasons.

Thanks again for the info.

This does not appear to be the standard Chelton Flight Logic system

Discussed this with Chelton reps at HAI yesterday - this is a special OEM version of Flight Logic for Augusta. Large screen new generation vesion on display at HAI initially to be used in military training helo.
