4. Photo Gallery: Mike Spack RCAF (http://www.mts.net/~mspack/rcaf4pic.html) if you scroll down to the crew climbing in you will notice the camouflage extends on the B.16 down the cowlings,nose and fuselage . This was only on Percival built machines in the PF...serial range. I can only presume that this was for greater protection on daylight raids over Germany from December 1944. The Lancaster Specials of 617 Squadron had a similar camou scheme.
I have not seen this in any side colour views of Mosquitoes apart from a mention in Ian Thirsk's excellent "DH Mosquito Vol 2".
Why was Percivals contracted to paint this scheme ? and is there a pattern drawing ? as it does not conform to standard DH Mosquito pattern. Any help/drawings gratefully received.
