Anybody know how the folks at GA have fared with the fires?

Untouched as far as I know. Daughter was at Latrobe Valley flying and no mention of the airport suffering.

I was wondering about that myself. Great to hear they never suffered the same misfortune as many others. :ok:

in case people are intersted, the airfield was never in any danger of the fires. the closest fire was the churchill fire and that was still a good few km's up wind of the airfield

While on the subject of airfields and aircraft under threat by fire recently, does anyone know the outcome of the private strip at Kinglake? I believe that a Yak, Ce 180 and some other aircraft are based there.

Maybe they where asking about the staff specifically who might live in an affected area:hmm:

Fullboost,

assuming we're talking about the same people (the Yak is a 2-seater?), they are fine, as is the property.

Fire burnt across the runway, slowed, and stopped short of the buildings.

Wonderful things, runways; act as fire breaks and are immune to road blocks...
