EK418 DXB-CHC 18th Feb

Hi All

I am on this flight to Christchurch and am looking for advice on obtaining an upgrade. I normally wouldn't bother but as this is such a long haul cattle class doesn't inspire me one bit!!
Does EK offer free upgrades to ATC?
If not then how is the best way to approach EK with a request? At check-in in Bahrain? At the EK desk in Dubai, at the gate or upon boarding?

Any advice would be appreciated,

EK doesn't upgrade its own staff so your chances are, I'm afraid to say, somewhere near nil. The cabin crew (and flight deck come to that) on board have almost zero authority to upgrade anybody.

I second that. No way EK will ever upgrade anyone unless the flight is overbooked in Economy, or you pay with Skywards points or credit card.. :E

How often did we have to leave poor ground staff or cabin crew on standby tickets at outstations with empty seats in Business or First? Just because Economy is full and NO UPGRADE, even if it means getting their own staff back to Dubai...
