No wonder, the average age of Lame's so high. So hard to find an Apprenticeship anywhere. Ppl don't take us on, the shortage will just grow and grow:ugh:

You gotta think that places like Aviation Australia are graduating 150+ students a year and most are Brisbae locals so naturally they want jobs close to home. Ever thought that the area might be saturated with people wanting apprenticeships. How about casting your net further afield or consider a military apprenticeship.?

medically unfit for millitary, and alot of problems with moving to far away. Though I have tried a few and no one interested.

I agree wholeheartedly about the lack of nurturing organisations, I really hope they end up paying through the teeth for LAME's in the long run. Why don't you tell us all a bit about yourself, someone here might give you some pointers on how to better sell yourself or perhaps offer you a bit of work. Like any reasonable CV, keep it concise.

There are alot of tohse students there pumping out are international students. And living on $200 week im strugaling so would really liek to jump into an apprenticeship ASAP. I'm 24, also doing 1 day a fortnight work expereince with the Energex Helicopter on the sunshine coast. With me having no car, I either get a lift up there or hire a car to get there. So im pretty comiited to it all. Can only do1 night a fortnight so i dont miss out on tomuch of college. I have my GFPT as well. Hard to move to far away, as have a GF with 2 kids and there Father wouldnt be to happy and im sure the courts wouldnt be either if moved to far away. So we cant all jsut pack up and leave to other side of the country or join the military. Though it is a possability for some people.

I would find out all the Companies in your neck of the woods and fire off a letter to each and every one of them, then after about 4 weeks repeat it, that way you are not harrassing them but showing you are keen, the Auz CAA probably has a list of approved Aviation companies on their website that you can get contact details from, Our CAA has in the UK, but try to pin down a name to send it to as well, because that shows you have looked into them.

so is nobody from your class finding jobs for when school is finished? How many people are in your class? I think AA has a refund policy for locals if they don't find a job within 6 months, right?

Yeah AA, will find you qa job if you have a 90% atrendance record and passed all exams. NO one has work lined up or looking for work at the moment. THey dont have time to. To much study:ugh:

when do you finish school? Maybe you are too keen and looking for work too early in the game? I hope I don't spend all that money and effort and not end up finding a job in the end! That would really piss me off!

skippers in Perth may be looking for 1 or 2, don't quote me though

I wonder how many of the trainee hosties from AA end up getting a job .Would think the percentage would be in single digits. Seems they are flooding the market with engineers and hosties .

I would liek to know ow many get a job form there after paying 4k or so for the 6 week course for hostes as well.

I am not going to AA.. I am going to QIAE. AA has not been able to answer my questions and just could not be bothered. When I am throwing alot of money at a school, I expect service! Reason why I chose QIAE.

still no luck? seems a bit odd... the place you are working at part time doesn't need anyone full time? Do they know of anyone looking? Good luck. Let us know how you get on.
