Recruitmeant for GVA is done seperatly to easyjet.
It is done through the 'easyjetswiss' brand, and recruiting for swiss is local.
We need a swiss based crew member to answer that for you as its different slightly for them and to be honest I have not seen any around here. But we will see what we can do.

Hi can any Easyjet crews let me have an idea of the take home pay for a cc and a No1, I am with a SOU base operator but looking to move in to the orange team!!

atmosphere
23rd Nov 2007, 11:01
Take home pay for a SCCM is between £1400 and £1900 for me, depending on how busy I am and comission etc.

If you do join easyjet then it will probably be the best move you ever make. I moved from a large airline to easyjet and have never looked back.

Good luck!

Hi. My name is Ana, I'm looking for some information, I don’t have it very clearly.
I would like to know after you pass the interview with easy jet,
1. How long does it take to call you to go for a training?
2. How long in advance do you know your roster?
3. How does work the stand by?
4. How many days do you work and how many days do you get off?
In your free time if you like to go anywhere do you have to pay % for the ticket or have you pay just for the tax?
Thank you very much for your help, hopefully you can answer this questions, it means to me a lot.
You take care, Thank you very much.:ok: :O

I am getting a little worried now, also they are holding an open day on the 5th march at LGW if i have applied on line will this mean i cannot attend an open day?

Any answers will be much appreceiated.

Hello Sunny girl,

I went to an easyJet open day in Gatwick few weeks ago only because I saw THE NIGHT BEFORE an add on internet...

We were over 200 people, I'd never had any contact with easyjet, I didn't know how it worked ... and I passed everything. It's not very hard, you'll see.

Simply don't care of your application, go to the Recruitement day, take the assessments and if you're successful you'll be asked (if not already done) to complete the online application.
Good luck, if you want any advice, PM me.

I would give them a call. Or send an email 'just to inquire about the state of the application'. And if you want to go to the open day ask them about it at the same time. They might even think it's a good idea for you to go. I can't see why you shouldn't go, as long as you'll tell them on the day that you have a pending application going.

Good luck!

Hiya guys

This may have been posted but its been a while since i have been on here, just wondering i have an interview with easyjet soon, was wondering weather i should go as they state its a fixed term contract, so is this a six month temp contract, or is there a chance i would be kept on at the end of this fixed term.

Sorry if this has been discussed before.

regards:O

F.C.C.
16th Feb 2008, 10:07
From what I know the chances of staying in the box once the contract finishes are quite high. There are various possibilities at the end of it:

- no renewal because the company is not happy with the performance of the employee.
- end of contract but offered the possibility of being hired again for the next season.
- offered a full time permanent position.

I do not know if there are more options but probably you will find them in other threads.

Happy flying

Again as previously asked on BMI thread, what are the things they look for on the applications and what sorta things do they want to see in application forms. I am completely new and want to get into cabin crew and have applied to a few other airlines but only rejections so far so trying to learn the tricks of the trade as it were! Also is it essential to go to open days? if so when is the next one at Luton???

Thanks

Hi,
Wifey has an assessment day coming up soon and was wondering what the basic salary would be during training, probation etc...
She has a lot of flying experience and was wondering how long it would be before you can go for SCCM?

Grateful for any info

Hello

I don't have time to go onto the easyJet web site right now, but if you go onto the easyJet web site and look at the recruitment section it will tell you the starting salary for cabin crew. To work out the basic salary during training just divide the starting salary by 12 - this will give you one months basic salary and your question will be answered.

With regards to probation, she will need to ask at the assessment day as things have changed completely from when I joined several years ago, Unless the information is readily available on the recruitment section of the easyJet web site.

With regards to going to SCCM your wife will need to be made permanent before hand as easyJet only recruit on fixed term contracts nowadays. She might be lucky to find on the assessment day that we are recruiting direct entry seniors - if we are and she has the necessary experience (i.e. a minimum of one years flying experience which I believe has to be within the last 24 months) then she can try to progress her application along that route. If there are no direct entry senior positions at this time she will need to make sure that she performs really well during her initial fixed term contract period so that she impresses management and gets taken on permanent.

Make sure wifey reads the full easyJet recruitment section on easyJet.com before attending the assessment day as a lot of her questions might be answered from reading the web site. Also, tell her to have a look at http://www.easyjetcareers.com/

Hi all,

I was just wondering whether anyone could possibly shed some light on to the pay scales of easyjet cabin crew in the UK, plus additional factors such as sector pay, overnight stops and sales etc. The career sounds exciting and I am very interested but the easyjet website doesnt actually starte figures.....If it is variable with regards to the pay, would it be possible to estimate for me, so I can gather as much information about the position as possible.

Thank you :-)

19th Mar 2008, 23:14
Hi, Main crew can look to get around £1400 after tax on an average month. This factors in flight pay, and commissions.

During training etc your pay will be poor, and while you are not flying the pay will obviously reflect.

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone could help me. I live in Portugal but work for an airline based out of the UK. I travel back home to Portugal about 4 times a month with Easyjet but the prices are getting so expensive that I cant afford to go back more than twice a month.

Does anyone have a spare concession that they could put me on - I will pay this person extra money for every flight that I do on top of the cost of the concession flight because it would still work out cheaper for me.

If anyone can help me out please PM me...

Thanks xx

First question, is this done by looking at you BMI?
Currently applying for easyJet, but was alarmed to find out that my weight is slightly over what it should of been for someone my height. Visually I don't look particularly overweight, I have a slight beer belly shall we say and thats it, but even then its not that bad. I want to know what airlines are like in this case, is it down to what you look like visually or is it down to what you look like on paper? starting to get a bit worried now, anyway I'm off to the gym!

4th May 2008, 14:16
You will be fine, I fly with many a beer hungry gent! they don't calculate your b.m.i, so long as you can fit through the door and strap into a crew seat your golden.

easyJet are a very good airline for taking people on because of who they are, not what they look like!

Apply, you will be fine!

easynick
4th May 2008, 15:39
i'vw been flying with easyjet for the past year and a half, and there are loads of overweight crew, both male and female, who look evidently overweight!!

so if your only problem is that your BMI is high but you look like an average everyday person then you have nothing to worry about.

As the last poster said, EasyJet are very good at not descriminating against peoples looks, therefore you get a very thouroughly mixed bag of people, which ultimatley makes EasyJet a great place to work :ok:

Even though i have just left i have only left to go work for Emirates, if it wasn't for that i wouldn't think about leaving EasyJet.

Good luck, Hope you get it, remember EasyJet = EasyMoney = EasyLife!!

Have Fun

Thanks for the help, my applications gone now, there arent any vacancies at Newcastle at the moment so can anyone tell me what the procedure is here? Will they pass my on my application then throw me in a holding pool? Or is it a case of waiting for a potential 6 months hearing nothing at all?
I really do have my fingers crossed, would really like to get this job.

easynick
6th May 2008, 22:20
It's very rare that they do recruit for newcastle or so i have heard.

They will prob ask you to pick another base to start with then you'll have to go on the transfer list and wait to transfer to newcastle.

Best Mate
15th May 2008, 21:46
NCL has been overcrewed for ages and there is a waiting list for existing crew elsewhere seeking a transfer to the base so it is extremely unlikely if they will be recruiting for ages. Things may change when they get the Airbus.

I was just wondering how do the overnights work with Easyjet or if they happen at all.

Im from Australia and have found out that apparently Easyjet recruit here in Sydney for Cabin Crew under a UK Work Visa that's valid for two years.

Hopefully thats true cos i reckon that it would be a working holiday to remember - beats working in pubs and whatnot.

any help would be appreciated, thanks!

28th May 2008, 11:29
Hi Libra,

As far as I'm aware that scheme finished in 2007. All new entrants are now hired on shorter fixed term contracts and I think recruitment activities have stopped in Australia.

Email them and found out for definite.

As for nightstops, it depends on your base. Some bases send crew on multi-day trips to support new/undercrewed bases, and some have regular scheduled nightstops such as AGP, BFS and MXP from LGW.

I've been offered an interview with easyJet but live right on the edge of the 90 minute travel to work rule. To be honest I'm now wondering whether this drive every day and back is going to get the better of me...

Hi there,
I work for easyjet and live over an hour away from base, it is hard work and have been doing the long drive for over two years.
You do get used to it and I leave my house an hour and half before my report time, a few time's it has taken me over 3 hours to get home due to traffic and after a 12 hour shift it's not fun.:ugh:
any more questions drop me an pm,
SJ

Dolley
10th Jan 2009, 23:29
There is quite a lot of people who do it with 60 to 90 minutes drives so it's definitely do-able.
Personally, I couldn't do it, and I would hate it, especially when on Stand-by. But then, I guess it depends how much you want/need the job...and what kind of person you are.
You certainly have nothing to loose going to the interview....and after all, it's only fixed term contracts anyway so if you don't like it you can just not renew your contract even if you get offered another one after your initial one runs out.

Best of luck :ok:

Anyone starting training at Luton on March 10th?

student88
14th Feb 2009, 10:45
I left easyJet in Jan 08'. When I was there it was a fantastic airline to work for - from what i've heard things have gone down hill a little but thats generally the same with every other carrier in these testing times. The cabin crew work 6 on 3 off generally consisting of 3 earlies and 3 lates. Training is good - 4 weeks. You'll have to pay £100 towards the stay at the Ramada hotel in Luton which is so much better than the Ibis the new recruits had to stay in! I dont remember having to pay for my ID but apparently that's the case now (£160 i was told). Pay is great - in comparisson generally better than your average BA LGW contract. The crew have a fantastic new uniform which I was very lucky to model for promotional photos. I had great pride wearing it even though it didnt fit me very well.If you don't like hard work easyJet isnt the airline for you. In the summer pretty much every flight is busy - I generally made my most money on the AGPs. Everyone used to bitch and moan about these flights but I loved them, You had a real opportunity to sell sell sell and you generally got to met some great characters along the way - and some not so great ones too. Always had faith in the flight crews - you're always going to get the younger FOs who think they're amazing looking like they've just stepped off the set from Top Gun, only to walk into the car park and drive home in their Nissan Micra. In my 2 years there I was only sent away to Milan, Berlin, Edinburgh and Gatwick as my "trips" even though I was considered Long Range (willing to be sent away). Theres always the chance to swap trips with crews who've been rostered them who have home life/children to deal with. The two weeks in MXP were amazing - only doing one or two flights in the morning having the rest of the day to laze beside the pool working on that tan. Staff travel generally was great for me - my family live in Spain. I got to go away for my days off for around £40-£50 which was ace. My family loved using it too - you get to put 3 others on your Staff Travel (unaccompanied). The crew I got to work with were the best part of the job. I was based at Stansted Airport in Essex and can say I flew with a fab crew every day. However, as I've said before things have changed and it has been said to me on numerous occasions that the company are not recruiting to the same standard as they were previously. It may sound harsh but sometimes truth hurts. As for being professional, it depends on your SCCM. I've heard reports of crews playing bingo on board and competitons in the cabin - that's not my style and can say that never happened on any of my flights whilst I was there. I'm up for fun, al be it in a professional and safe manner! Hope that helps! :ok: (please excuse spelling, firefox upgrade disabled my spellcheck!)

p.s. I ALWAYS looked forward to going into work!

Hey guys,

I've been considering applying for easyJet for a few years now but found out I only can do so for EZ Swiss due to administrative requirements (can't work in the UK, even though I'm only interested in bases on the continent). So, any rumors that there's gonna be any vacancies in Geneva or Basel? Or is LX just too strong at the moment for that to happen? Any thoughts would be apreciated as well.

Hey Luís, fellow portuguese friend! thinking bout working for Easyjet? I was actually thinking about it myself but it all comes down on chosing the right base to live/work. What's your choise on that? I'm still not sure bout paying to live elsewhere while on work...just don't know if it pays off at all.

I'm currently trying to go for the airlines in the middle east: Emirates, Etihad, Qatar. we'll see how it goes!

Hey Alkatifa!!

The base I chose to work/live was Gawtick because I already have a friend living there and working for EZY.
I'm just not sure if I have sufficient english to work there.

About paying to live in London to me its not going to be a problem because I already pay to live in Lisbon.

If you whant, add my mail on your msn. We talk better there.

That's good for you, having a mate already in London. Makes sense then. For me I would only consider Madrid or London, but I would need to pay housing which is really expensive in those cities. I know what u mean....living in Lisbon is not exactly cheap. I'm currently in Porto myself.

I will just try my luck first in the middle east and only if not successful would consider Easy, as Ryanair is a major f***up!

Hi

I am Dave from Germany we will be sitting in the same boat on the 29.04 in Luton. I worked for Rynair before for about 14 month i was based in Frankfurt Hahn. All my best friends got fired or left the company so left as well.
What is your prefered base? mine is Berlin
I will be staying nearly 2 days in london if you want we could meet for a coffe. It will be not easy that day i was checking online for informations. They inviate a lot and take only a few. But we will see. At Ryanair i did not have to do such things like mathe test and so on.
How about you? What have you been doing and how do you get your self prepared for that day. For you it might be a bit easier as you are from uk i guess.
I am looking foreward to hear from you soon

Take care :)

Hi guys and girls, a little bit of advice here for the assessment day, im now working for easyjet and started at beginning of year.
Probably the biggest and best advice is 'be yourself and have fun'. dont go and look or feel nervous because they watch for that. get involved with everything, talk to everyone and u will find u all get on well. At start of the day in the classroom they will ask each person to give a fact about easyjet so its good to read up about the company, it can be anything from the founder of easyjet, how many times they have been voted the safest airline to what aircraft they fly.

Boeing 737-700 (to be fazed out by 2011)
Airbus 319
Airbus 320 (new aircraft being ordered, 1 delivered to gatwick already)
Airbus 320 ex GB airways
Airbus 321 ex GB airways

remember to say something about easyjet, there were some in group that didnt know a fact and well, i think u can guess if they got job or not. lol

u will then be given a maths and english test, dont worry its not too bad just remember to read the questions carefully, with the maths u are allowed a calculator and some of the questions are about currency conversions which is all muliple and devide again not too bad but read carefully and the questions are multiple choice.

then u do the group excersise, there are too and each group gets a trainer to assess what ur doing in the excersise, basically work as a team, involve everyone, ask eachothers opinions etc, but dont sit out and wait for someone to ask u what u think of an idea, they will watch that. its actually quite fun that part so dont worry too much.

then u have a break and they divide people into 2 groups.. the nervous bit.. they call ur name out, if ur name is called then unfortunatelly its bye bye, if ur name isnt called u can relax lol.
then its just talk about the pay, what goes on etc in easyjet and general things u need to know, where finally u have a 1-2-1 interview. just be urself again relax and they will ask u the usual interview questions about customer service and what u have done exceptional etc. for me they asked if i know what aircraft they use at my chosen base (for me as im LTN its 737-700 and a few A319's although there are more now since i started).

good luck everyone if ur still awake after reading this lol

Just read your mail, and would like to know how I can find out which type of aircraft fly out of my chosen base in Liverpool. I am attending an assessment day on Tuesday 14th April and whilst I can find most of the othe information I need to know about easyJet I cant seem to find out this little bit of information...thanks

hey Karen,

as far as im aware, liverpool use only A319's, others reading this correct me if im wrong, there are only a couple of bases now that use the boeing 737 type aircraft.

heres a little fact for u.. the EZY A319's are the only aircraft of that type designed exclusively for easyjet, and the only A319's to have 4 overwing exits (all others have 2). it is required by the aviation safety board as EZY have extra rows so need 2 extra overwing exits.

for uniform, u pay for it, but in segmants through ur pay, i belive its month 3 and 6.
also u dont pay for ur training providing u stay with the company through ur whole contract, its what they call a bond, that will be discussed on the assessment day.

good luck on the day and enjoy it :)

Thanks for your prompt reply, that is really appreciated. You really are a mind of helpful information, where do you get it all from, and do you think it helped you on the day!!!!???? :ok:

I applied to easyJet this time last year and failled to get to the 2-1 interview so I am hoping I will do better this time round.

Cheers

Unfortunately the 4 over wing exit version of the A319 is no longer unique to easyJet - there are a few airlines around which have chosen the option to have a greater seat number! However easyJet were the first to take it :)

A friend of mine had his interview with easyJet 2 weeks ago and nothing was asked of him about the airline, just 4 "give me an example of a time when" questions, where you're expected to give examples of when you've either gone the extra mile, taken charge of a situation, managed your time etc. There are loads of questions they could ask, think about some ideas but don't create generic answers or ones you've learnt off by heart. The recruitment guys and girls at easyJet want to see that you're thinking about what you're saying. If you want a minute to think about what you're going to say - tell them. They'd rather you spend a minute thinking about what you're going to say over you struggle and rush and not get the job. They're not there to fail you.

Study wikipedia for a little while however if you're going to learn anything, make sure it's our values and pillars. Pillars are things like Safety, investors, people, customers and operations excellence - values are safety, pioneering, passionate, team work and another which I cant remember. If you can relate to them in your interview you'll be earning muchos points. Make sure safety is your priority in everything you do!

Good luck!

hi all, if ur uk based, as far as i know its a 9 month contract which is what im on, there maybe a chance too that ur contract is extended. I trained with crew for paris orly base too and their contract is permanant, dont know if that is the same for all other european bases, but uk bases are 9 month contracts. Best thing to do, is work hard and as good as u can, no sick days etc and that will help to get made permanant if they do decide they need more crew :ok: It really is a good company and enjoyable to work for and u work with alot of great people.

Money-wise, you are much better off on a euro-contract, which means Madrid, Paris or Milano (Swiss bases are on a different AOC). Berlin is UK contract, so you live in the euro zone but get paid in pound-pesetas albeit with a sort of exchange rate protection until December 2009.

UK employment law is WEAK!

Hey HighFlyer,
Always be prepared to go to more than one cabin crew event...at least 10 maybe more until you get one...it's about timing as much as confidence...Depending on which Assessors are looking at you...some like confidence and some like the more conserved...
Some also go of maths more...it just depends on the day...believe me, i've had 9 assessments...girls who you think should have got the job but didnt...I'm not talking about easyjet as i havent been..but each recruiter regardless of airline has their different likes in a candidate...
But yeah just do the best you can... :o)

Im guessing that airlines will be recruiting again very soon as it is now a new financial year. Otherwise i would be applying for most airlines, also with some airlines you have to be 19 and 21 im 18 so im out of luck there. Thank for the advice. Much appreciated. x :)

If you dont get in right now, try Virgin fares and ticketing...or some type of ticketing in college...Travel And Tourism GNVQ isn't as good as I did that one...but fares ticketing is more specific to airlines i found :)

Yes i know i would really like to work for them and because im so passionate about travelling and learning about the world i thought they would be the perfect airline to work for. I was going to apply with them but they are not recruiting, also im a bit reluctant applying for them in the future because its been mentioned quite alot that they are very strict on applicants education background with their english and especially maths. Im dyslexic and in my GCSE got an F but i resat that a year later and got a high E if that helps at all. But what i always say you will never know if you dont try. So as soon as they start recruiting again im in there. x :)

17th Apr 2009, 18:50
As CC your flight/sector pay will make up roughly half of your salary, so if you do not fly a lot, you will make less money. Stand bys do not attract flight/sector pay, but airport stand bys do as you are required to be at the airport in uniform. You will most likely fly 4-500 sectors per year with a few variations spread out over the year.

I applied for Gatwick base about a month ago, i was offered an assesment date but couldn't make it as i was away, they were nice and offered me another date, but i couldn't make that either due to my current roster, and since then i've not heard anything. Does anyone know if there any assessment dates going on during May? Hi ErikaFly,
Come stai? Spero bene!

E ci daremo dentro con l'assessment day. We can do it! The best!

Hi there,
I got an assessment day on the 5th May for EasyJet at the Hilton hotel in Gatwick, and I am wondering if someone else has got it on the same day.
I was thinking to book a room in one of the cheapest B&B I found on internet, and if we can join together, the price of the room would be slashed drastically. More we are and more cheaper will be by sharing.
The 5th May is near and...I havent booked yet coz in case there is someone else with a better idea or place where I/we could stay overnight on the 4th May.
So please, let me know asap. Otherwise I will have to book for my own!

Thanks for helping and supporting each other.

I want to write this post to communicate my disappoint about the selection EJ made on this day.
It is hard for me to say how upset I was and how unfair the selection was for some of us.

When I arrived to the Hilton Hotel in Gatwick I found about 100 people in queue for the assessment with EJ and we were numerated in base at the inizial of our first name.
Once inside the biggest room we had the Math and English test. The Math test is very very easy but the English one has got some tricky part (usually the middle part of) that request more attention.
I did pass the math and english test very easly and then about 20 numbers were called and 20 people were eliminated, coz they didnt pass the test or they didnt complete the test (so it is important that you complete your test even if you don’t know the answer).

I was so happy to have passed it. After we were splitted up in different groups for the group exercises and asked to form groups of 4 or 5 people with a member of EJ senior cabin crew.
I was in a group with others three candidates and one senior cabin crew. To each of us was given a depliant with some sale products and they asked in two minutes to choose individually one that could be the best seller of the moment. Then everybody wrote down at least 5 key points about it and then we discussed with the senior cabin crew which of us had got the great product and why. The senior cabin crew was designated to take notes about how we interact with the others and on about our sales skills and listening level and attention to details. I did manage very well in this group exercise.
The second group exercise was on the tradition test of bunker: which of us you would save and why? To each of us were given a card where there was written your profile: a doctor or a scientist or a professor or an army officer. There is no right answer in this test. They just want to watch how you manage with the others and how you interact. Once again I thought to have done very well. Keep my smiling up and with a perfect attitute.

After the groups exercises we had the break, a 3 hour break. I went with others candidates to having something to eat and this was a great opportunity to interact and communicate more with everybody. I was so happy. This was the part I really loved about all the assessment day and I got a lot friends now from any part of Europe. I got three best friends during the break and we spoke about the group exercises and about the performance. We thought to have done brilliant and that was. No doubts. During my break I spoke with some of candidates and I found some of them unmotivated and with e negative attitude to the job with EJ. These people didn’t bother to pass the test, they just wanted to go home and forget about it. I was the first person to say to them: “No, come on... you will be fine! Be happy, be positive.. you need to be motivated if you want this job”.
This is ridiculus and I will explain why later.

We had to come back to the biggest room for 2.00pm for the second selection, elimination.
The numbers called = people eliminated.
About more than 70 per cent was eliminated at that time. I saw a lot of fantastic people with a clever mind, great personality, very nice people, with passion and very motivated leave the room to go home.... included me.
When they called my number I thought maybe this time the numbers called are the survives, but not. We were eliminated. The faces down and a big disappointed for some of us which were very good at the group exercises.
But the thing that makes me more upset and disappointed about the performance that EJ demonstrated (people that judged you), was: some of people with which I spoke before and that weren’t motivated and distressed passed through. This made me nervous, coz some of them didn’t say one word at the group exercises and they just wanted to go home, finish soon and also some of them which were screaming, shouting, taking over the others, making people in an imbarassment position passed through. I don’t understand why a so serious and friendly air company did this. I think the seniors cabin crew in change or the sales cabin crew or whatever they are called didn’t demonstrated to be enought professional to be honest and for that reason I write this post because some candidates that passed the assessment day should be at my place...at home, because they don’t deserve it. How is it possible that people unmotivated and with a bed attitute to be honest passed through?

Anyway.. I’m still a bit shocked since yesterday and I’m sorry for all of us...for all these nice people who left Gatwick to come back home and I want to say to them to not give up and to try with different air-companies and also may to come back in six months for EJ again, why not. Maybe people change and maybe better examiners will take place.

I’m not a perfect candidate... I was just myself in all the points with a buggage of my sale experiences past, and I did much better that some of others candidates whom really don’t deserve it.

I hope to having spoken in all of candidates name, who were surprised about that elimination.

Thanks for reading

Hey all, I have just signed up for this forum.

Is there anyone out there that could answer this question for me. If I would take a job as a cabin crew with easyJet based in Gatwick would they issue some sort of travel allowance? I live 30 min away from the base and it would cost me araund 10 pounds a day to go there and back again. I'm just not too sure if that would be a smart thing to do as the salary is not sky wracking:)on the other hand, I really wanna take this job... someone please answer this for me.

Thanks(;

Hi,

Unfortunately you will not receive any travellling allowance to go to work! The allowances you earn are pretty good and soon mount up to give you a decent salary.
I worked for easyJet for 15 months and earned good money, you do work hard though so be prepared to work long days and double trips etc.

The criteria is that you should be able to commute to work within 90 minutes should you be called from standby etc, if you choose to live 30 minutes away then that is your at your own cost, I would suggest that you look at moving nearer to Gatwick Airport and find a house to share, you may find that the expenses you would incur commuting may work out cheaper if you rented nearer!

If you really want the job then I would recommend you go for it!:ok:

Good Luck!

Greenmoss,

Sorry to hear you didn't get through to the interview stage. I know myself what it's like to not be offered the next stage - it's heartbreaking. Unfortunately with this type of mass assessment, its possible for the shiniest diamond to miss the miners. I'm sure you're probably much more suited than the majority of candidates however this time it's just a case of re-applying in 6 months time. I always like to look on the bright side - who knows, this may have happened for a reason. A lot of it is down to luck and unfortunately if the assessor that day got out the wrong side of bed you'll feel the wrath! Just move on having learnt something, apply to other airlines in the mean time and get lots of interview experience. If only the whole interview experience wasn't so expensive!

Good luck and let us know how you do!

You must feel awful but believe me you can do better!! The people who recruit for easyjet CC are not the most highly trained in the world...It's low cost and training costs!!!! They might have SCCM/ACCM on their name badge but so what? How they treated people at the assesment stage is how easyjet treat employees....like a number. I can speak from experience as I work for them. You are better than this believe me and believe in yourself :) Don't let this one experience put you off.

You come across as somebody who would take the role of CC seriously. There are other airlines out there who would value that and recognise it at the recruitment stage. Apply to them!!!!!:ok:

Good luck Hun.

I couldn't disagree more. Besides, do you expect them to call everyone by name when 300-500 people turn up for assessment? You would be there all day. Sounds like you're a bit angry with the world. Yeah other airlines treat their crew so much better, take Virgin - taking on crew to make them redundant 3 months later. At least you know where you stand with easyJet. It's not nice to say but if you don't like it, leave it. Going around spouting negative BS isn't doing anyone good, let alone yourself! I could only imagine what it must be like for you - clearly so elite and working for EJ! Jees - you should be at the likes of Emirates or something.. I think you'd enjoy it there.

Yours,

Someone who doesn't take being CC seriously, apparently :ugh:

Don't be so arrogant. I think lowcostdolly is in a much better position to comment, what with her working there now. She also correctly notes that recruiters are not god's gift and can get it wrong. Spend less time brown-nosing and making oh-so-hilarious cutting comments, and perhaps people will try listening to any points you'd like to make, rather than seeing the sarcasm and drawing the conclusion, as I have, that you're a know-it-all who really doesn't.

It is hard for me to say how upset I was and how unfair the selection was for some of us.

There are few things less dignified and more pathetic than failing at interview and complaining about it out loud and in public. Here's the news - the world doesn't revolve around you.

Stand up, brush yourself off and then move on... It happens to everybody. Better luck next time.

Thanks Captain Scooby :)

I was just too lazy to post a reply to the various rants as am busy filling in my emirates application form....not! Love the job I have thanks S88:ok:

By the way I've just checked my post again as it seemed to cause you so much personal offence. The only person who said you do not take the role of cc seriously was you :=

I was just trying to cheer up greenmoss......nothing more. Sorry if that annoyed you (or anyone else) but the post wasn't directed to you or any other ezy employee.

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum. Just submitted my apllication for Easyjet to be based at Edinburgh. I applied back in January and was contacted within 3 weeks to be invited to Luton for an assessment day, but as I was still at Uni was unable to attend. I hadn't expected to hear so fast as they hadn't even had Edinburgh vacancies advertised! Now I have my final exams ever next week so am hoping they will get back to me just as fast as last time, but no doubt this time it will take months, now that I am able to be flexible!

Oh well! I'll keep you updated :O

First, I wanna to say "thank" to all of you for encouraging me to keep trying. Thanks so much :ok:

I did. :-)

I applied to lots of airlines (about 20 between UK and IT) and I'm still waiting some of them reply to me.
Anyway....

Just yesterday I got an invitation (assessment day) on the 2rd June at London Healthrow with Flybmi at 9.30am, UB7 7ND.

Is anybody else on that day?
I'm still looking for an accomodation on the 1st June. If someone is looking for as well and is interested in sharing an accomodation or has got any idea where I could stay, please please let me know. I'm very sociable person.:)

Hope to meet soon nice people!

Again.... on the ride. Hope this time it will be more fair!!!! UEPPAAA!!!!

Well, EasyJet just CLOSED the application for LGW.

You have to check the homepages of the airlines you are interested in. The information should be there.

Ryanair is hiring all the time in Europe and Qatar is hiring regularly for Doha base.

Put "cabin crew" and "flight attendant" and "air hostess" plus job/career in google and start your research! Start with www.aviationjobsearch.com (http://www.aviationjobsearch.com) and keep reading.

To the person who wrote: How do they check the Italian MXP base language skills and what is the main language other than English for EJ at MXP?
I've never worked for EJ, but have done a few interviews and have worked for 8 years for a middle eastern company. I can pretty much say this is true for most airlines. If anyone has anything different, please do correct me.
The answer is in Italy they speak ITALIAN and will get an Italian mother tongue speaker to assess your level of the language.
Less confused now?

Hi all.
I'm applying for a CC position in Milan Malpensa, living just 40 mins away, even though I'm a Brit and I speak fluent Italian.

I worked for Emirates for 8+ years based in Dubai, leaving a few years ago as Purser to come back to reality and away from the sand.
I've tried on numerous occassions to get into EZY, almost always getting to the personal interview part, where the last time I was told that they were looking for 'real people'. (I had to pinch myself to ensure I hadn't turned to stone after that comment)!
I studied hotel and catering management and have almost 20 years experience in customer services. I'm 36yrs old (is that too old for EZY?)

Anyway, anyone know what it is that EJ are looking for in their candidates then if it's not experienced flyers with customer care experience? Reading some of the comments here, it seems the less you actually care about the job the more chance you have to get in? Hmmmm, maybe that's why I can't get in? (Which seems absurd, good enough for Emirates, but not good enough for Easy? :ugh:)

Does anyone who's recently done an assessment day, remember those 5 or 6 essential 'qualities' they deem to find in each candidate? Or for those who fly for easy, could you tell me more about the MXP based contracts, is it true they are now only temporary? Which means, you do 4 weeks training at the start of the year and by October, you're let go....?
More info the better...thanks all.

I've never worked for EJ, but have done a few interviews and have worked for 8 years for a middle eastern company. I can pretty much say this is true for most airlines. If anyone has anything different, please do correct me.

easyJet is working with a 3rd part company who will make a interview/test by phone with you of around 40minutes. During these 40minutes they will test your language that you want to be tested on (as easyJet pays you for all extra languages you speak than English and the National Language if it's a language from a country of their network)

For contracts in Italy it is mandatory you speak fluent Italian such as French for the FR-contracts and Spanish for the SP contracts.

the last time I was told that they were looking for 'real people'

Experience doesnt count for them if you apply for the position of CCM it's the attitude what is the most important for easyJet. You need to be openminded - laughing (not fake! as in the ME) and being natural... very natural easy laidback even.

They don't like attitude: The answer is in Italy they speak ITALIAN and will get an Italian mother tongue speaker to assess your level of the language.
Less confused now? ;-) ;-)

Contracts are idd temp. contracts to start with as it's crisis every where even for a lowcost airline (they say so! ;-)

I believe they are looking for these things they mention during the assessment day. I can't remember them all but just use your common sense!

As you've been crew before you shouldn't find it to hard to write yourself a list with qualities they may be looking for. Keep these in the back of your mind when attending an assessment day but be natural, yourself, and keep smiling.

36 is certainly not too old for ezy. When I started we had a fellow new starter with us who was 52 at the time, and there is a lot of crew who started in their 40's and even 50's.

Experience will certainly help but won't be the thing that gets you the job. That's your personality (and the qualities) you display during the day. If you made it to the interview stage before you are doing good anyway. It might be more your interview skills that let you down? Practice competency based questions and be specific when answering them and remember the qualities they may be looking for.

If all this doesn't help....consider that maybe it's for the best, maybe ezy just isn't the company for you? Doesn't mean that you aren't good or that ezy is bad, just that the two of you don't match? But if you are convinced this is for you, keep trying! Determination is a quality as well (although I'm not sure if it's one they are directly looking for.)!

Good luck :)

Hi everybody.
I'm writing you to be sure I discovered a Easyjet bug in their recruitment web site.:ugh:

Put you wanna apply for 3 bases over 10 showed.

You enter the site
Register
Choose the FIRST base let say Milan
Answer to all CV questions
Click on Submit
You get an email back after submission

Well.. then you Log Out!

You go back...
Choose another city let say PARIS
Log in again
Go directly on SUBMIT
And you wait for another email....

So you do for the third base let say Stansted!
Now... you are waiting for a total of 3 emails right?!

You've only got one!

If you got all the three emails well... you are lucky.:ok:

If anyone of you have got only ONE email... well... you better write to [email protected] and tell them you are affected with the "web site bug"!

If that's happens mean.... you have applied only for the first clicked base (Milan in my example)!

So do not hope you are going to be called for Paris or Stansted. They haven't you in the next two bases list!!

Please give me some feedback if you have reported the same issue!
And PLEEEASE... write them reporting the BUG!!:{

Hope this will help someone to be shortlisted! ;)

PS: I'm dealing with Easyjet Bond Talent webmaster!! ;) The more you write the quicker they will solve the bug. I hope!

Cheers

Im just wondering if any current or previous cabin crew can advise me what options i have as a single parent with a 4yr old at school. Im worried that my dream of being cabin crew is not possible or can it be done.
My child comes first and formost of course but would like some feedback or guidance to help me make a decision as to wether to go through with it or not, and if i can fulfill my dream and info on how easyjet feel about people like me!!

Also how are shift done, are they weekly or monthly?

- english test - what kind of questions are they
- any practice with ej or elsewhere

Thank you,

Maths tests are very very simple - based on calculating costs of purchases and converting £ into Euros/vice versa. You are given a price list, a calculator, a pen and some paper.

English tests are trickier as it's a case of picking the best answer available (but I sometimes felt none of them were correct). You are given a short paragraph then asked whether 4 or 5 statements are correct, false or whether there is insufficient knowledge in the paragraph to decide.

Sure there must be similar things you can buy or find on the internet. I must admit I didn't do any preparation at all for them and passed - but that English test does seem to catch people out so might be worth practicing.

Just wondering if anyone here is in the same position as me and/or able to offer any advice...

I went to an Assessment Day in Luton back in February and was offered a job at the Gatwick base, to start training on 22nd June, which of course was great news.

I am currently a student in Manchester and will be looking to move down south for this job ideally around the second week of June. As a non-driver, can anybody suggest where would be a good place to look for a flatshare? As in, where can I get cheap and easy transport to Gatwick every day for work? Where could I afford to live? I think London is out of the question and I am a complete stranger to the rest of the Gatwick area. Where do the crew at Gatwick tend to live? Do most drive?

I did post in the Accommodation thread a while back but it seems pretty unresponsive.

I would be very grateful to anyone who can offer any suggestions, or any response from anyone in a similar position.

Thanks in advance :-)

Near LGW, I think a lot of crew live in Crawley and Horley, but there are many, many crew who live in Brighton. I used to live in Brighton and was based at LGW, but was on long haul. I took the train, as I did not have a car. The train was about 20-30 minutes ride to LGW at that time. As far as quality of life, I would live in Brighton rather than by the airport, but I am not sure how your duties work; for example, if you have an early show, before the trains start going, Brighton would be tough.

Another idea (this is going back around 12 years..lol) would be Croydon. I used to know someone with BA's EuroGatwick at that time, who did not have a car, used the train, and managed it from Croydon, with early shows. Something to research more anyhow. Best of luck!

Thanks for the response, Crawley and Horley seem to be the names popping up the most on Google etc. However they seem pretty small; I like Manchester, I live right in the centre and I think I will miss living in the middle of everything. I think I will book viewings for Crawley and Horley and take a short contract on a room there, so I can see for myself what it's like there and what Brighton and other places would be like to live and to commute to work from. Thanks for your help :-)

Hi yall! Can anyone please help me, maybe you could, OrangeGirl? ;)

I live in Berlin for 3 years now (moved from ex USSR country) and really miss being a flight attendant, as it's something I really loved doing (used to work for national airline in my country for 2 years, got up to Y class purser)... :)

I flew with EJ a few times and decided for my self that I would enjoy working there, as crew seems to be very professional and nice. But I wonder if I am good enough for EJ, as I am a foreigner...

I have an unrestricted "Aufenhaltserlaubnis" in my foreign passport, hoping to get full "Staatsburgerschaft" within 2 years. I speak 3 languages (including English); my German is on the level of B2 (I have a TestDaF certificate with high grades). Is it good enough for EJ?

I believe I still need visa for UK... :{

Thanks for answers! :O

Hi Kris26UK,
I was offered the job with easyjet based at BRS but unfortunatly had to turn the offer down. I was then contacted by e mail offering me to be put into the holding pool so if any dates came up in the future they would contact me. However my coordinator informed me she cant see there being any dates in the near future, it would be more than likely the begining of next year. I presume they will contact when they start recruiting again which would be begining of next year before the summer period when the 6 month contracts run out.

Hi illi

First of all, being a foreigner is no problem whatsoever, there is many people from many cultural backrounds working for easyjet.

About your visa situation, your best bet is to email the recruitment team from easyjet to find out for sure. However, I believe you need the right to travel freely and unrestricted within the EU which of course includes the UK. If you need a visa for the UK you probably won't be able to work for any UK airline.

If you'll achieve German citizenship in two years time you certainly can apply. Until then, gain as much customer service experience as possible.

But once more, check your visa requirements and restrictions and then check with easyjet, then you will know for sure what your options are.

Good luck!

There is recruitment for Berlin right now, so that's good news for you. There are still some who don't speak German here, so just wing it :ok:

Hey there,

Just a few questions for any EasyJet crew out there if you wouldn't mind! (This is NOT a begging for ST thread btw!) :)

I currently work for shorthaul BA out of LHR and have been crew for a couple of years and as you may have seen there is a lot of things going on about our future especially with this new Mixed Fleet starting. I LOVE working for BA, and do enjoy working on my current fleet and my job BUT IMO I have to keep options open. EZY seem a good airline aswell, so:

1/I live in London, so the bases that would appeal to me would be in order LGW, LTN and maybe STN (Gatwick and Luton are easier for me though) Which of these bases is ''the'' place to be?

2/Salary - I do not expect anyone to put there salary on here for the whole world and their wife to see, but maybe if you could PM a general average for Main Crew and SCCM please? Preferably out of one of the above bases!

3/Scheduling/rostering - do you have a good working pattern and days off. Do you have an agreement or do you work to Scheme/CAP 371 (Not that I mind!)

4/Career progression - an important thing for me. Which of the above bases is the best for progression to SCCM specifically? Is the salary good for SCCM? I have heard you do ''fast track'' or direct entry SCCMs - I know you are not recruiting at the moment but what does that mean? Obviously I have well over 12 months experience so would be eligible.

5/Is Easy a good company to work for - as crew I realise no company is going to be perfect. Like I say I do love BA, but EZY does also seem a very forward, good airline. Is this image I have true? What are the other crew like?

I know some people will say ''you are mad'' and probably will call for the white coats! However I do have to keep my options open. BA has introduced a new Mixed Fleet which will be £11,000 plus £2.40 an hour, some are saying that will be less than other airlines like EZY! BA has stated we won't be forced onto this, I don't want to go into all this though but, I am just thinking of my future. Also with career progression it looks like either Mixed Fleet for me (and first of all as Main Crew on a training programme for a year!!) they say there will be oppurtunities for PSR on current contracts but we are all not too sure, so am just thinking what's it like at EZY!

If anyone would like to PM me or answer on here that would be great!! And much appreciated!

Dolley

1/I live in London, so the bases that would appeal to me would be in order LGW, LTN and maybe STN (Gatwick and Luton are easier for me though) Which of these bases is ''the'' place to be?

LGW, it's the biggest base and the one which offers most contracts and career progression. STN will be the 'nicest' base of the lot as not so massive. LTN is good if you are interested in progressing into other areas of the business. However, if opportunities come up, you can apply from wherever you based if you are willing to consider LTN later.

2/Salary - I do not expect anyone to put there salary on here for the whole world and their wife to see, but maybe if you could PM a general average for Main Crew and SCCM please? Preferably out of one of the above bases!

PM'd. However, only very vague anyway for all you nosy people out there.

3/Scheduling/rostering - do you have a good working pattern and days off. Do you have an agreement or do you work to Scheme/CAP 371 (Not that I mind!)

New entrants are on random rosters now. For crew who's been there longer it's six days on, three days off, usually three earlies, three lates but this may vary. Newer crew has all sorts of rosters and I've seen both, quite harsh with never more than two days off together in a month and very nice eg every weekend off in a month, 4 days off together etc. Not sure about any agreements as I'm on 6 on, 3 off.

4/Career progression - an important thing for me. Which of the above bases is the best for progression to SCCM specifically?

LGW!!! but if you are flexible you can apply for SCCM at any base as long as you speak the language and are willing to relocate. So for example, you can be based at LTN and apply for SCCM in LGW or vice versa.

Is the salary good for SCCM?

I think so.

I have heard you do ''fast track'' or direct entry SCCMs - I know you are not recruiting at the moment but what does that mean? Obviously I have well over 12 months experience so would be eligible.

I don't think we do that anymore. You need a permanent contract with ezy first. Again, for a permanent contract LGW is the best base. As soon as you have a permanent contract and have the 12 month experience you can apply. However, the newest process is, that SCCM will only be recruited once a year in July for the next summer season. You then may have to be seasonal (summer only) SCCM for a while. But, the whole process is just changing/new therefore, I don't know how this will work exactly from now on.

5/Is Easy a good company to work for - as crew I realise no company is going to be perfect.

Yes. But far from perfect. I'm still here after 5 years or thereabouts. So are many others (and many who've been around much longer). So I guess it can't be that bad despite all the constant moaning going on lol. My answer is yes, after reflecting a bit on the question.

Like I say I do love BA, but EZY does also seem a very forward, good airline. Is this image I have true?

I really can't compare Ezy to BA as I never worked for BA. I have friends who used to work for ezy and are now BA and wouldn't come back, and some who would. I have friends who used to work for BA and now work for ezy and would never go back. I guess it's all about what suits you and your life style best. But yes, there are a good airline, all things considered.

What are the other crew like?

That's what makes it or breaks it, and the crew is lovely. I've worked from quite a few bases and I always find that all bases have lovely crew and I call many of them my friends. LGW is probably the most difficult one on this one as the base is just so massive you barely ever fly with the same people. That's where the other bases STN and LTN are probably a bit nicer as you get to know other crew quicker. I don't think it really matters, ezy, BA, Ryanair, Emirates, etc, we are all crew and therefore we automatically have a lot in common. As everywhere, there is people you will get on with really well, and others you can take them or leave them, but either way, there's always some common ground!

Hope his helps :-)

I have just logged onto the easyjet careers website and have seen that they are recruiting for various bases. I filled in an application for for a based that wasnt advertised 2weeks ago, but know it is advertised. Does anyone know if i have to resubmit my application or if the recruitment team will automatically look at it?

i dont think they are in any major rush to recruit as it will probably be for 2011 anyway so i think it could be a few more weeks if not a month or two :(

I've just joined the site and have recently been on my assessment day at LGW for Easyjet. Interview went well and am just waiting on the final yes or no BUT being a slightly older person than a lot of the regular crew I am at a different stage in my life to start this career. I would very much like to hear from anyone else in a similar position (and in their 40's) particularly on how you manage a husband/wife/partner, a mortgage and other finiancial commitments that have been acrued over the years. Is it manangeable? Do you still have valuable time together inbetween schedules? And at the end of the day all concessions and commissions considered, is there really enough money to be earnt, to keep your head above water? I think I'm looking for some reassurance and maybe there are other people with the same questions?

hi, normal crew work on a 6 on 3 off pattern which usually means 3early shifts (starting at around 6am) and then 3 late shifts (starting around mid-day). as for the people being recruited at the moment there is a chance it may be random rota so that shift pattern isnt guaranteed.
I worked for easyjet last year and after the 6month probabtion period earned about £1300-£1500 per month including sector pay and commission. but the probation pay is slightly less to cover inital costs. hope this helps

On top of recieving a rejection email from both Easyjet & BA (cant apply again for 12 months for BA at LGW) I cant apply to EJ for 6 Months, after which time I will be too old to become cabin crew

This is a very sad realisation for me and a very big deal as not only was I bullied out of staying in retail & not allowed by my family to become a pilot when I was younger in Ireland (I live in Manchester) I'm 40 & this has hit me very, hard, having already been pressured by people in my present and previous retail employers, friends, family and everyone else around me who tried to talk me out of it - perhaps I do not have the emotional stability or resilence required to become cabin crew, which was me lowering my sights from becoming a pilot (because I was too old) and now the same has happened again, so now I cant even do this

I've applied to both my old retail employer and my present retail employer for a job in/transfer to Ireland & am moving back to my family there (in accordance with thier wishes & instructions) because it is not meant for me to become cabin crew and anyway, I suspect that certain information passed between them, my family and the airlines had (and has/will always have) the effect of preventing me from leaving retail, where I have always been bullied and put down by other people all my life, where I have no choice but to allow this behaviour

Sadly this is the reality of life, that it is not my destiny to become cabin crew and in giving up on my dream & in letting go of it, that I can do so with some sort of diginity - I am totally gutted :{

I work for EJ and can tell you at the age of 40 you are NOT TOO OLD to work there, don't know what your situation is regarding bills etc, but if you can stay where you are get a job to pay the bills and apply again in 6 months. Although I have sometime ranted and raved about how bad things are at EJ it will be worthit when you get the job!!

I am 51 years old and start my Cabin Crew career with easyJet on 7 Dec 2010. I wish I was still in my 40's.

Dolley
29th Nov 2010, 18:51
Yes, irishmanc, a the previous posters have already stated, it's certainly not your age that is holding you back from becoming cabin crew.

From the easjet career website:Our age criteria ranges from 18 - 65 so if you meet our minimum requirements, you fit within this age bracket and you have all the qualities we are looking for, you will be considered for an available position with us. Do your research instead of assuming!

Instead I would have a good look at your performance on the assessment days and at what stage yo have been rejected. Until you say differently, I will assume you made it through to the interview as you wrote that you received a rejection email. Which would mean that your interview skills have let you down. This is something that can be practiced so not the end of the world. The hardest bit is to make it to the interview which you successfully achieved.

easyjet is very clear about the competencies they are looking for, and they even tell you during the assessment day if I remember it correctly. It's all common sense stuff anyway eg safety, teamwork, presentation/uniform standards, working under pressure, etc

Just think about all the competencies they are looking for (even send them an polite email and ask them to remind you, can't hurt!!!) and think of examples when you displayed these skills. Think of two or three example for each. And otherwise follow general interview standards (e.g. wear a suit, smile, make eye contact...). You can find lots of online advise including on the easyjet career website!!! Again, do your research! Being well prepared will help you on the day!

Also, and that will sound harsh, stop moaning and take control of your own life. Nobody can make you do anything or anything you don't want to do in this day and age and the country we live in. That includes your friends and family. If you are letting yourself being bullied, that's your problem. Don't let them. If this has always been your dream, don't give up. If it's not happening, do something else. But nothing good is ever going to happen to you if you don't stop blaming everybody else for your problems.
By the way, with 40 you are not even to old to become a pilot if that's what you really want (Once more, do your research, don't just assume!!!). The only person stopping yourself is you! Stop blaming the world and get on with it!!!

Sorry, just my opinion, of course I don't know you or your circumstances, I'm only reacting to your post and my interpretation of it so I may have it all wrong. Either way, don't let anything or anyone stop you from reapplying because there is no reason for it. You will find a lot of crew who started well over 40 and you will find a lot of crew had to reapply several times before it worked out for them.

Good luck with reapplying in 6 month time. Use the time wisely!

Hi, new here,

Just sent off an EasyJet application on the 28th of November. The base i'm applying for is Bristol.
Just wondering how long it would take for them to get back to me? Would it be by letter or email?

Thanks, Joe

Hi Joe

You should get an automated confirmation email that they received your email straight away.

After that it may take a while (some people hear back within a few days, others have to wait a few months, unfortunately.). It depends when and where they holding recruitment days for Bristol. There will probably some in Bristol at some point but sometimes you'll have to travel to London Luton or London Gatwick.

At this time of year easyjet is recruiting a lot for next year so hopefully you shouldn't have to wait for too long!

Good luck,

Dolley

Thanks for your answers....

Hi Joe

This is from the easyjet career website FAQ section:

When you submit an application form to us, you will receive an automated email telling you we have successfully received it. Please check your emails and update your contact details regularly.

Good luck with getting it sorted!

Hi topgun

The medical is done by the GP who has access to your medical history (most likely the one you are registered with now) and it's just a simple questionnaire about your and your family's medical history.
It should not cost anything unless your doctor's practice charges an amount for admin reasons.
I can't remember what questions they ask but it's nothing tricky.
Eye sight may have to be done by an optician. Again, that cost depends o your optician but I think you can get them fairly cheap.

Hope this helps,

Dolley

Callum,

you can only apply for one base initially but you will be asked for base preferences in your interview and you can mention your flexibility then. I would apply for LGW initially as it's the bigger base and expanding faster so chances are that you'll get an assessment day sooner.

It takes a few month between your interview (your interview, not when you send off your application!) and starting to fly.

First you have to pass the interview and it takes about one week before you hear back.

Then you have to go through the whole referencing and CRC process which can take quite a while depending on your history but will take at least 4 weeks due to the CRC.

And then they have to place you on a training course. That all depends on when the next place is available and may take a while.
And then you have to go through the course (about 3 weeks) but once you've passed your course you'll go flying pretty much straight away.

So if it goes as smoothly as it possible could and everything goes in your favour you are still looking at a minimum of two month between interview and flying. And that would be super quick, and half a miracle to be honest.

You do get paid from the first day of your training course though, not from your first day of flying.

Good luck with your application!

Emmabumblebee

No, it won't be a problem. Either you have been claiming benefits which means they can get a reference that way, or you will have to provide a personal reference of sorts. Either way, they've seen it all before and know how to get the references they need. All you need to do is being as honest as possible, provide the information required and work with them.

Good luck!

Hello I am travelling to Luton for the AD this Thursday. Is anyone else's AD on that day. I am going to probably be one of the oldest there :p at 46 years old. I will probably feel abit out of it so Im hoping there is someone there who is at least over 30.

Also whilst reading about Easyjets criteria they did state that you should not have any tattoos. I have a 4 letter name on my forearm, which can be covered but Im just alittle worried if I pass and we are made to wear short-sleeved blouses. I can cover it with make-up but do you think this will lesson my chances if they see it at the AD.

Im having a debate with myself here whether to turn up or not, Many thanks everyone.

Jacqui. :O

AD at Luton on the 22nd! Applied for Gatwick base.

Feel free to shoot me a message if you're going too, be nice to "pre-meet" people, so to speak!

Dolley
16th Feb 2011, 23:34
Hi Jacqui

I doubt very much that it will have an influence on the outcome of your AD. A lot of crew have tattoos. However, it is probably a good idea to cover it up for the day to show that you understand what will be expected of you.

easyjet also have a long sleeve shirt that you can wear instead of short sleeves, it's personal choice. It doesn't matter if you choose a plaster, make up or the long sleeve shirt option, as long as your tattoo is covered up it won't be a problem.

As for the age question, it's really not an issue. There is a lot of crew older than you, who started when they were older than you. I don't know about the AD's but I would assume there will be people of all ages, genders, nationalities and sizes, and your age will not even be noticed.

Good luck with your application,
Dolley

Hi there i was just wondering if anybody else has been accepted for the assessment day on thursday 24th march at luton? I live in belfast and would be nice to meet someone from here and not to be alone. another thing is i am not quite sure if i got invited because that's the email i got:

Congratulations! We are pleased to inform you that you have been shortlisted to attend an assessment session for Cabin Crew with easyJet for your chosen base.

We would like to invite you to attend an Assessment Centre on Thursday 24th March 2011 at 08:30 to be held at the easyJet academy in London Luton. Please note that as there are limited spaces available for your chosen base at this time, the assessments will be held at our training academy. If you are unsure for which base you have been invited, please refer back to the base you selected on your original application form.

Please email [email protected] to confirm your attendance, ensuring that you state your full name and assessment date in the email. Following that, if you are accepted onto the allocated date, easyJet will send a confirmation email which will include full details of the location of the event.

There is limited availability on these sessions and places are allocated on a first come first served basis, therefore please do not book travel, accommodation, etc, until you have received your confirmation email.

could anyone explain that to me? did anyone get similar e-mail?

Hi

Does anybody know whether easyJet recruit for CC all year round? Reason I ask is because I'm interested in applying but in a few months rather than now. So around July/August time - does anyone know if they'll be recruiting around then ? My base choices would be LGW or LTN

Anybody know if EZY are currently recruiting for Liverpool base?

Dolley
25th Apr 2011, 17:01
No, they don't recruit all year around. They recruit in accordance to their business needs and usually that is recruitment in Winter for Summer.

Also, the process between applying and actually starting can take a while so you are better off applying sooner rather than later. You can always ask to be put on a later course.

That's just going on personal experience from a long time ago, and what people are saying.

Good luck with the process!
