Just curious as to how many crew actually use subload tickets for other airlines? And in what circumstances? Does it end up being too risky e.g. you only have 2-3 days off and want to ensure you get back to base on time for work..! In 9 months of flying I've only used subloads from my own carrier, and one firm ticket with Emirates.
My airline says we can list ourselves for subload travel on the website flyZED.com which we can log in to and apparently list ourselves on about a dozen other airlines... No one I've talked to seems to have used it though. I'm wondering whether this is because it's ineffective or just complicated/tedious? We do have our own online system which is quite effective anyway, I just wanted to source out other possible booking channels...
Any tricks or tips for this? Doesit help your chances if you turn up for the flight decidedly well-dressed/polished? I'd be a little worried that I'd lost for a flight for a airline based in another region and maybe they wouldn't recognize other airline's crew? Although I guess that's all part of the excitement! :ok:
Oh, and do other airlines use different terminology? "Subload" tix are 90% off the fare, and "firm" are 50% off, yes?
