Hi guys,
Sitting in departure lounge today after I was bumped to the next flight. Was wondering with all the people shuffling around the terminal the question arised how many pax does Qantas uplift a day domestically?

Skystar, were you on a commercial ticket or staff travel? Surely being on stafftravel you'd have viewed the loads and not done a lizzydizzy and turned up to an oversold, undercatered, late and 25staff listed flight?
I'm more than happy to check some loads on stafftravel on specific routes if you want.

Considerably fewer than they did 12 mths ago, IMHO!
I fly with the Rat a lot - enough to maintain Gold Freq Flyer status anyway! Mostly Townsville-Brisbane, Brisbane-Sydney, Sydney-Melbourne, Brisbane-Melbourne, Brisbane-Canberra, and I would have to say their loadings appear to be 50% of what they were!

Latest traffic stats for QF is Nov 08. They are the slowest airline on the planet for releasing traffic stats.
Anyhow, domestic is 1,368,000 for the month so I guess an average of 45,600 per day. That is just Qantas mainline domestic.
On top of that Jetstar Domestic was 678,000 for the month or 22,600 per day.

If you look again at the question and it's wording be very careful at what you answer because you honestly don't know who is asking the question and what their motives are.....don't assume that they are staff as dizzylizzy did....and certainly don't offer to look up staff travel figures for someone you don't know.
In fact go back and look at some of Skystars other posts.....you might find them very interesting.

Does it really matter? Yield is what makes or breaks an airline.
A half empty (or is that half full?) load of high yield pax may be better for the bottom line than a full one. The concerning thing at the moment is the decrease in high yield business travel (in all classes). The $39 fares on full service airlines is a result of this.

If you want to get technical then yeah you want to start with both RASK and CASK. But that's straying from the original question.
